@beeanon97:  Try Charleston SC!  Beautiful city and tons to do even if it isn’t beach season.  I used to live there.  Feel free to pm me if you have specific questions!

@beeanon97:  Once you find an area you can always look for places on airbnb.com or flipkey! It’s cheaper than a hotel and you can get a bigger space. You would have to cook for yourselves, but you could maybe even go to Disney depending on what type of place you can find in Florida!

One of my colleagues swears by AirBNB – or (and this is really random) but have you considered house-sitting? There are companies that send couples all over the world to look after the most glorious properties…?

I grew up in FL, and one of my favorite activities that time of year is to go to Crystal River and swim with the manatees. I’ve also heard that Destin is a great place to go to the beach, but I’ve never been. Good luck!

I live about 15 minutes from Niagara Falls, and I can tell you that it’s definitely an affordable and fun choice. Seeing the Falls, whirlpool, devil’s hole, etc. are all free (and beautiful!) on the US side. Hotels are also very affordable, especially with Groupon. I highly recommend it, and if you want to message me, I’ll tell you all the great romantic spots and restaurants to check out.

If you have passports or enhanced driver’s licenses, it’s also a short drive to great sites in Canada: Clifton Hill, Crystal Beach, Toronto, Niagara-on-the-Lake…

As a side note, if you want to make Disney a more affordable idea, check out their freebie promotions! Not sure if they’re running these anymore, but they had (have?) a promotion where if you racked up a certain number of Disney-approved volunteer hours, they’d give you a free day pass to the parks. And another one where you could get a free pass on your birthday! =)

My Fiance and I have a tight budget for the honeymoon as well. We plan to take a cruise out of Port Canaveral, FL to the Bahamas. 5 days/4 nights for $750 total including taxes and fees (in May which is probably more expensive than November). We plan to spend a little while on the cruise on alcohol and excursions but not much. We then plan to hit Disney for a day on the way back if we are able to save enough.

We do not have to pay for airfare though since I was given a voucher last time I flew in exchange for taking a much later flight (plane was overbooked). That really helps.

Definitely check for online deals. I know it’s not practical for honeymoon plans but I usually book my vacations last minute. I use priceline, hotwire, and itravel2000. The last all-inclusive I stayed at was Punta Cana, we paid $550 each and that included EVERYTHING! (flight, hotel, transportation to and from the airport, food & it had a 4 star plus rating).

@beeanon97:  I would definitely cruise! You could drive to NOLA or even Miami/Tampa and go on a 7 day cruise and in November I’d bet you could find one for under $1,000 easy! You’ll see multiple places and the food and entertainment is included onboard! Check it out!

I didn’t read all the comments on here So if this was diecussed sorry but you cojkd always do a minimoon. Go to a b&b and just get away. I know in Wisconsin there’s plenty of touristy things to do so I’m sure some of the southern states would too. Social living always has little getaways for places in eastern Tennessee and north carolina. Sometimes even northern georgia.

@beeanon97:  I completely understand the tight budget! We are going to Charleston, SC for 5 days. It is not too expensive. You should check out some of the B&Bs there.
