tommywantwingy :  I don’t know if there’s a “normal” time frame for recognizing a miscarriage. Everyone is so different and get miscarriage is different. This is one of the reasons I chose a D&C. Hang in there. Friday you’ll be able to have a path forward if nothing happens in the meantime.

sleepymelis :  thanks lady ❤💔

NicoleLyn1218 :  ugh so sorry to see you here. was rooting for you.

ColoradoGirl :  so sorry you are dealing with the same thing  re family age gap and expectations. you are totally right re one tube not being a total issue but the idea still saddens me, although not as much as the idea of a hydrospalinx causing future mc so if it does turn out to be one ill (somewhat) happily do what i need to better my odds of a good pregnancy. if its helpful for ypu ive been chatting with people with bigger age gaps and hearing all the pros to help myself find the silver lining- there are definitely pros!

tommywantwingy :  FWIW, you might have still had a heartbeat longer than you think. At my 8 week ultrasound, I measured 6+2 with a heartbeat and a week later, when we confirmed fetal demise, I measured 6+4 without one — so if you were measuring 4 weeks behind, it doesn’t necessarily mean the heartbeat stopped 4 weeks ago. That doesn’t really change anything, but it may help you give your body some more time.

But to answer your actual question — it can take a really long time. My doctor told me that most of his patients will complete their mc within 2 weeks, but that it’s highly variable. At least with my OB, he said that after 2 weeks, he always pushes people towards a D&C because the odds of successfully miscarrying naturally after that are pretty low.

(Official – finally!) ROLL CALL

Your Age/Partner’s Age: 28/34

How long you have been together/married: 3.5 years/6 months

How long you have been TTC: 6 months…..since IUD was removed in December, but have only had 5 cycles in that time

Known Issues/MC/TTC History: No known issues yet, other than a CP this cycle. Waiting for AF currently. I had a spot of red blood and cramping this afternoon that seemed like AF was arriving, but back to pink spotting. This is getting so fucking frustrating. I seriously am going to have spotting PTSD from this cycle.

Your TTC plans for the next few months: Adding CoQ10 this cycle……along with my other stuff for me, and hubby is going to take it too. It should be here Thursday 🙂 so just waiting on that. My doctor wants us to try for a few more months and then let him know if we haven’t become pregnant and we can run some further tests, since I have only had two “normal” cycles after they regulated post-IUD removal. I’m also going to drop a few pounds and have been on the stationary bike a few times since last week.

Just for fun: What’s your next big trip / life event outside of TTC?  We plan on finishing our basement (well, for sure his office so his our spare room upstairs can be for future baby and the bathroom) this summer, and going to the cabin, spending a lot of time on the lake and fishing…..and probably helping my sister and brother in law build/do things with their cabin. We have a couple weddings to go to in September, one of which we made it a weekend away since it is in the town we got engaged in, and we will be doing some hiking and whatnot.

FoolsintheRain :  yessssssss. Seriously it would be amazing. I know I have read a couple bees live close-ish to one another (they see the same doctor in canada) but I haven’t found one even remotely close to MN yet. lol.

The way this is going, I’ll actually need to take the provera. Still fricken spotting. No actual period after CP yet. I was going to start to take it when I got it, because it would fall over a weekend we are away at the cabin…..but I can see my math is clearly wrong now. Lol I forgot to count the 10 days of provera in there. I think I’m gonna start taking it today.

larissakay :  I am leaning towards pushing for the d&c actually now! Since my body has made 0 progress since Friday. I just want this part over with so I can really start to heal and move forward.

tommywantwingy :  I can understand that. Go for the D&C! It’s a really easy surgery. With mine, I was in and out in under 4 hours and then spent the rest of the day napping. I was back to work the next day and felt fine.

sleepymelis :  frown Right there with you. I was so damn optimistic after my mc that I’d have some of that magical post-mc fertility and here I am still not pregnant. My due date would have been tomorrow. Not a fun place to be, but I hope we both get our sticky BFP in July. Our optimism has to pay off at some point, right?

tommywantwingy :  I can totally understand that. I chose D&C twice because I wanted to start moving on quicker. Plus, then you don’t have to see any blood or have painful cramps as would happen with a natural MC. Good luck!
