DrunkInLove :  Yay on the plans! Slightly jealous too 😉 So, what is the whole “pre-seed/Softcup/Mucinex thing”?

MuseForever :  I am so sorry that you are going through this! That roller coaster of the slight glimmer of hope is the worst. As far as timing, my doctor said she would prefer that I get my period once before trying again but it’s not really essential. I saw your other post too. Did you decide if you will take medication or get D&C? I opted for the D&C because it’s over more quickly. I didn’t want to have to see blood etc with the medication option. It was essentially painless albeit a little scary to have to get anesthesia. Best wishes to you!!

auggiefrog :  Thanks. I think I vaguely remember your BFP on the same board, too. Hopefully we’ll both have better luck next time! Having a new job and enjoying the summer weather has been a good distraction for me, but I was grumpy and emotional yesterday and this morning. Today marks 4 weeks since my D&C so I’m hoping that my moodiness is due to AF’s imminent arrival. I am lucky that I never really got my hopes up since I had bleeding and spotting througout and never heard a heartbeat or anything. Darling Husband keeps reminding me that because it was a blighted ovum and we only saw an empty sac that there never was really anything there. It never even got to the stage of being an embryo, let alone a fetus, but of course I still feel sad about it sometimes. The most upset that I got was when I thought it might be partial molar and I would have to wait a few months to try again. How are you doing? Thanks for starting this board! Reading stories from others who are in a similar boat has been very helpful. 🙂

MuseForever :  Since I don’t get a lot of EWCM, I found this theory of using mucinex during fertile week to help thin out the mucus, using Pre-Seed lubricant which is sperm-friendly (most lubes aren’t), and then using the Instead Softcup (it’s like a disposable menstural cup) after BD to help keep the sperm closer to the cervix. It’s very romantic. wink Here’s one blog that goes in to more detail… http://wisemommies.com/the-trifecta-to-getting-pregnant/

Also, did you decided to do the MTX or the D&C or just wait it out? We had the D&C because I really just wanted it to be over (considering my body had already been “unaware” of the ended pregnancy almost 3 weeks) and I really just didn’t want to deal with all of it alone, at home.

Many of you ladies are going through more recent MCs, I’m so sorry. Really, I know how hard it is.

DrunkInLove :  This is amazing. Thank you! I went on and on reading about this in other sites and the mucinex (or robitusint oo) seems to be a favorite! I am for sure taking note. While we didn’t have difficulty conceiving, I may take advantage of this to speed up the process, I am just so sad that we have to wait until whenever my cycle is back to normal. I haven’t decided yet what I’m going to do, I guess I am leaning toards waiting, but  we just learned this yesterday and I am growing more anxious, so we’ll see what happens in the end. It frustrates me that I feel absolutely fine, no cramping, no more spotting in the last 4 days. If it wasn’t for the HCG levels on Monday, I would think we are on the right path after seeing the sacs and not having any more spotting :/

MuseForever :  Sure, it’s really interesting! And we didn’t really have trouble concieving either (5 months, totally normal) but now I’m really eager to get going again and I’m already on cycle 4 since MC, so I’m getting anxious. Anything that will speed this thing up!

There’s no wrong answer on what to do, I just know for me, I wanted this sad experience to be over and done with. Maybe give it a few days and see how it goes.

ROLL CALL

Your Age/Partner’s Age: 34/34

How long you have been together/married: Married 3 years, together 6

How long you have been TTC: We TTC for 8 months for our first, and then TTC 4 months for our 2nd pregnancy (MC).

Known Issues/MC/TTC History: I had a CP after 2 months TTC in Oct 2016, then BFP again on January 1. MMC at 12 weeks followed by a D&C in March.  Since then I found out that the LOOP procedure I had done last summer for abnormal cervical cells didn’t get them all, so I had a repeat procedure in June and was advised to wait 6 months before TTC again.  We’re in the wait right now.

Your TTC plans for the next few months: I’ve actually got the NuvaRing in right now, so TTP until December.

Just for fun: Do you have any fun summer plans?  Being that I won’t have to worry about TWW, etc, I’ll definitely enjoy some drinks this summer.  My miscarriage really kicked off a desire to improve my body, so I’ve been working out hard (with the exception being time off to recover from the LOOP), and am seeing some great physical changes.  I was in awesome shape for my first pregnancy, and was definitely in much worse shape when I got pregnant again.  I had an amazing pregnancy the first time, so I’m hoping that if I stay in good shape I can have that again.

apostrophecatastrophe :  You’re lucky that your D&C was pretty painless! I got vacuum aspiration (similar but no scraping I think) and it hurt like hell. The OB said to take a Mortrin and then I only had local anesthestic put on the cervix. I’m just worried that maybe something was damaged if it was that painful.

auggiefrog :  Thanks for responding to my PM! I think if you want more diagnostic/preventative testing, it never hurts to ask, rather than wait until you get more miscarriages (but hopefully this won’t be the case). Since we had unexplained infertility, I had gotten all this testing done before my MMC to make sure I didn’t have any conditions that were possibly causing infertility. My best friend who was TTC for #2, she went early to the RE for testing and it turned out she had blocked tubes, likely a mucus buildup from her C-section. She saved time by finding it early, getting surgery, etc.

DrunkInLove :  This trifecta method sounds interesting! I may just try it when we have the go ahead to TTC again. It wouldn’t hurt and I don’t wanna go another yr or so before being able to get pregnant.

auggiefrog :  Thanks! Sounds like you have a good attitude about it too. I am sure that if you have had a healthy baby before, you can have another. I think it makes it easier for people to handle the sadness when they haven’t heard a heartbeat or anything. I haven’t had that experience firsthand, but I know it can be very emotional for people when they see/hear it. What kind of blood tests are you getting?

Jewelieee :  Sorry to hear that your procedure was painful! That’s cray tht they only numbed your cervix! Were you in a hospital? They gave me a three-drug cocktail — the Michael Jackson drug (propyphal (sp?)), some other sedative, and fentynal — so, while it was not complete general anesthesia, I fell asleep during the procedure and the last thing I remember was looking up at the lights in the operating room. I’m sure I would have been in a lot of pain if they hadn’t given me all those drugs, so I wouldn’t worry about damage. That sounds terrible. I’m sorry!

ROLL CALL

Your Age/Partner’s Age: I am 31, Darling Husband 38

How long you have been together/married: Been together 4.5 years, married almost two years.

How long you have been TTC: 1.5 years

Known Issues/MC/TTC History: I had two back to back losses, both at the extact same gestational age (11w). With both we saw healthy heartbeats. Both losses went down the exact same. No indication that anything was wrong until my lower back started to hurt, then i started to spot, then all hell broke loose.

My doctor referred me to the Fertility Clinic and I underwent lots of testing. It was discovered that I has Ashermans Syndrome. I had surgery at the end of January to remove the scar tissue.

Your TTC plans for the next few months: I am not emotionally ready to try right now, but we will be with in the next few months. Right now I am taking prenatals and exercising – trying really hard to get healthy again.

Just for fun: Do you have any fun summer plans?  This summer we plan to relax as much as possible. We have two trips planned to visit family in other provinces. We just want to go with the flow and enjoy eachother as much as possible.

apostrophecatastrophe :  It’s ok, thanks! I’m kinda confused now as to why they didn’t give me any painkillers. I was at the hospital where the OB has an office. I did schedule the procedure for a few hours after we got the bad news, but they could have still provided something. I was crying and moaning from the pain during the entire time. And then I start Googling and finding out that it’s supposed to be quick and painless. I didn’t even get a follow up appointment (I had to call and request one) and the OB forgot to put in my antibiotics prescription (I had to call for that too and wait until the next day). I wish that I had gotten a second opinion instead of rushing into things. The hospital is very highly regarded but all this makes me question whether they saw the ultrasound correctly. I went down the rabbit hole last weekend when I discovered all these stories about misdiagnosed miscarriages, haha.

Jewelieee :  I can’t believe your D&E was that bad! I had general anesthesia, which is why I was so eager to do that method–I wanted it to be over without feeling/seeing/remembering anything. I’m so sorry you had to go through that! I would definitely find a new OB going forward!
