LoveAndLaughter :  I’m so sorry for your loss bee. I’m not sure about the spotting you’re having. I have heard some bees say that for a few cycles after their MC, they spotted for a few days before AF, so maybe that could be it? Are you doing anything to track ovulation?

sunshineglam :  I’m glad you got some closure bee. Heartbreaking about the trisomy, but as you said at least you know it’s just a fluke and nothing “wrong” with your body. I hope you get your rainbow very soon!

AFM…I wrote about the ongoing mindfuck of this cycle in the January POAS thread if anyone wants the long version. The short version is I’m 99.9% sure I’m out this cycle due to a temp drop and seeming BFN this morning. AF is technically due today, and I’ve got the telltale burning feeling in my uterus that means she is prob gonna come on time-ish. So, were the squinters I’ve been getting the last few days evidence of a super weak CP? Or just leftover HCG in my body from the MC, despite apparent stark white BFNs a week ago? We’ll never know. I’m actually feeling weirdly positive about it all at the moment. I think my body wasn’t ready yet to sustain a pregnancy this cycle. The one thing I didn’t want was another drawn out miscarriage, which it doesn’t seem like I’ll be having, so…yay? I’m really hopeful that the next one will be it for us.

tiffanybruiser :  Did you test today?

ETA: Saw your update 🙂 we posted at the same time lol Glad you’re being optimistic and FX and baby dust for next cycle!

LoveAndLaughter :  Hey, I didn’t experience anything like that but def get a test to rule a pregnancy out.

feedthebeags :  last time I got a pretty faint line at 11dpo so I wouldn’t personally expect to see anything at 9dpo (that’s just me, you may be different). I’m going to use all my strength to wait till 12DPO so if there is a line, it would theoretically be dark enough where I’d know it’s not leftover HCG!

That is, of course, IF AF stays away that long. I’ve only ever once had an LP make it to 12dpo, so it’ll be pretty suspicious if she doesn’t make an appearance before Weds.

I hate life today… CD 24, no sign of ovulation coming. Temps sitting around 36.2 (97.14)… last cycle i didn’t ovulate until CD34 – but W.T.F.  I totally thought I would have ovulated by now.  Anyone else have these insane cycles? this is cycle 3 post MC.   So happy i chose to temp or I would have thought I ovulated on CD 12 or 16!

MsTrulove22 :  The on-call doctor was in his late 60’s and definitely old school, so I’m inclined to take what he said with a grain of salt. He suggested waiting my miscarriage out to avoid any risk of an incompetent cervix in the future. He said something about the number of Pap smears too. When I mentioned this to my doctor, she seemed annoyed that he had mentioned it and she didn’t think a second D&C would be a risk. I’m going to continue to ask her about it though.

I had a day to think about what I wanted to do and after checking, the benefits of the D&C outweighed the risks. But I’ll be asking my doctors to keep an eye on things.

I figured you had tried the usual cocktail of progesterone & baby aspirin on this last one as it seems to be standard with RE’s. I’m not sure what else they will give you to try to help.

How are you feeling about trying again?

tiffanybruiser :  I’m sorry lady. FX for you on the next cycle!

KB87 :  That’s super frustrating. My cycle itself kicked back into gear last time pretty quick but I did have spotting all over the place. I hate the waiting game.

LoveAndLaughter :  I did have super weird spotting after my miscarriages. I had it before my period and then it drug on after my period was mostly over. Hopefully it’s a BFP for you!

sleepymelis :  with my cycle that ended in MC I had an implantation dip at 9DPO and BFP on CD11 so I should wait as well but I guess I’ll see what my temp is doing and decide from there.

KB87 :  that is so frustrating! hopefully you O soon, the wait would kill me.

tiffanybruiser :  yes, I think the only thing “wrong” is that I am well past the scientifically ideal procreating age. I’m sorry about all your crazy testing, hopefully this next cycle is the one! Glad you are feeling positive!

KB87 :  I wish I had an answer for you but sending you good vibes, hopefully you get confirmation soon.

Good news today after having a pretty emotional week, AF came back in full force today (after having about 6 days of dark brown spotting – which I NEVER have), it’s been exactly 4 weeks since my D&C. Excited to try again at the end of the month.  Also considering trying CoQ10 since I did have a chromosonal issue, has anyone tried it?

sunshineglam :  I started taking it about a week ago, so I have no results I can share with you. I’m part of an infertitilty group who has a lot of ladies who use it, so I asked their opinions. First thing, make sure you get Ubiquinol, not ubiquinone, as Ubiquinol is the bioactive form and can be used by your body right away. I’m currently taking 400 mg, however, the ladies that had poor egg quality were told to take 600 mg. A few said they had their best egg retrieval after being on CoQ10. I figured even though mine wasn’t chromosonal, that it was time try something.

sunshineglam :  I started CoQ10 just before my BFP, so there’s no way it could have affected that pregnancy. I’m still waiting for my lab results (grr) so I’m not sure whether it was a chromosomal issue that caused the MC. However – I’m 38, with pretty regular cycles and no other diagnosed issues, so it’s very likely that was the problem.

Anyway, it’s now been over 3 months since I started taking it so I hope my eggs are good and saturated with it 😊 I’ve been taking a 200mg daily dose. It does take about 3 months to have an effect due to the egg’s maturation period, but preliminary studies show very promising results. I just finished reading ‘It Starts with the Egg’ which is specifically about increasing egg quality and minimizing chromosomal issues. It explains how CoQ10 works much better than I can, and also provides other suggestions for us ladies with old eggs. I highly recommend it!

sleepymelis :   ColoradoGirl :  yes, those are my same thoughts!  And that is the book I was about to buy on Amazon! While I might be too lazy to read another pregnancy book I might try the CoQ10. Did either of you ladies ask your doc first? It doesn’t seem like anything that can necessarily hurt you so I am leaning towards not even bothering with the call. I did read it takes the 3 months but I figure I might as well try, who knows when we will get a BFP again and in 3 months I might regret not starting sooner.

sunshineglam :  I did ask my doctor, but only because I was already at my post-op appointment. She had no problem with it. I’m not typically into taking supplements but CoQ10 is part of some RE’s standard cocktail of meds/supplements. So I figure if an actual medical doctor is recommending to their patients, it’s not just some myth on the internet.

ColoradoGirl :

Thanks ladies. I was not tracking ovulation at all. I (wrongly) assumed that since my period came back 4 weeks after the miscarriage that I would be back on cycle as I was before I got pregnant. Tests came back negative this weekend. I’m going to guess that it was my period and we’ll be trying again this month.

LoveAndLaughter :  sorry for your loss bee !!! Sounds exactly like my experience – 4 weeks after d and c got a period, cycle two had wacky sporting (apparently very normal) but with hormones regulating I didn’t ovulate until later…: ended up with a 45 day cycle. The bleeding was bright red (wiping and after sex).  I ovulated at cd34 and period at CD 47 – do you temp? I never had, but I find it helpful now as everything seems to be different ugh
