I’m a long-term lurker looking for support while I TTC baby #2. Just when DH and I decided to try to add a sibling for our 15 month old DD, my (normally very regular) cycle decided to go haywire. I was having some irregular spotting and discharge in the middle of my cycle, and was diagnosed with an ovarian cyst.
The cyst is not a big deal, but it seems to have delayed my period. My period is now at least two days overdue, and I’m getting BFNs, so I’m certain I’m not pregnant. My gynecologist said I might go a whole additional cycle before my period returns, but that I’ll likely ovulate in that time.
Have any other bees missed a period altogether due to a cyst? If so, did you ovulate approximately the same number of days later that you normally would have? If you have become pregnant following an anovulatory cycle, did the doctor still insist on using your LMP to date the pregnancy?
We are still going to go for it this cycle, even though it will be more open ended than usual. Let the TTC craziness begin!
