@MCC919:  I’m taking wayyy too much.

-Prenatal

-Maca root (before O, helps with drive)

-Coenzyme Q10 (recommended by this site: http://natural-fertility-info.com/increase-egg-health)

-Calcium/Magnesium/Zinc

-Vitex

-Fish oil

-Royal Jelly

-Chromium (for high blood sugar associated with insulin resistance, which I thought was due to PCOS but as it turns out I do not have)

-Bromelain (an enzyme which I take CD1-the day I get crosshairs, thought to help implantation and prepare the uterine lining).

Not TTC here exactly, but I just take a gummy prenantal, just in case.

Geez…should I be taking more?

@starrynight:  We’re getting ready to TTC in November. I’m also only taking a gummy prenatal but I know that I need to switch to one that has iron in it. The gummies have DHA and folic acid but not iron. I don’t even know what the rest of the things are that

@ChuckNorris:  listed. My doctor told me any over the counter prenatal would be sufficient but I should be taking them for 90 days before we conceive.

@sit1010:  I forgot about iron – mine is usually low but obviously I did a lot better while I was on BC so I haven’t been thinking about it lately.  Hmmm….I wonder though, if it’s really necessary while TTC?  The folic acid is the big thing I’m worried about, especially since we arn’t trying or preventing.

@starrynight:  We are trying the more holistic approach to boosting fertility.

@starrynight:  It probably isn’t necessary but I could use the extra boost, especially considering how crazy work has been. I figured if I start getting the extra boost in energy it’ll keep me from stressing as much which will eventually help when we start trying.

We’re not TTC yet, but I’m trying to get my cycles straightened out for when that time comes. I take 100mg of B6 and 6mg of astaxanthin (the latter for my skin). I also take a daily multivitamin and Omega 3-6-9 when I remember.

I take a prenatal, an additional folic acid, and biotin (but that is for my hair).  🙂

@MCC919:  There’s thought that Bromelain could dilate the cervix, which is why I don’t take it through the whole cycle.

I also take Vit D too, I forgot about that! And a B complex! Hahaha. We are both crazy pill ladies. I have a whole medicine cabinet full of junk!! I also take baby aspirin before O (thought to increase blood flow and prevent blood clots) but I don’t recommend it unless talking to a doctor.

If your cycles are regular, and your temps look normal, then yeah, I’m not sure you would benefit from Vitex… I’ve heard it raises estrogen and progesterone levels. Some ladies I know take it because they think their progesterone is low. =) Hope that helps!
