So glad I read this post. My husband and I just decided that it was time to get off the pill and get on prenatal vitamins. So excited but so scared! My husband asked if I was scared. Lol. I responded with, “No I’m not scared…we’ll okay yes I’m scared but who wouldn’t be scared!” Haha.

wifeyprice : Right? I was scared that I would get flamed and people would say I shouldn’t try to have kids if I am feeling nervous. To be fair I am often nervous about taking big steps. And this is one of the biggest I can think of! I mean you can divorce your spouse not your kids! lol You’re stuck the rest of your life and that’s a big deal!

Reading this post totally helped me realize I am not crazy, haha!!!
We have been trying to prevent pregnancy for the first four years of marriage, so to chage gears just seems wrong, even though its right! I had a moment of panic when I purchased prenatals, then more panic two weeks later when I finally started taking them. This is our first cycle TTC and we both had moment of panic that first week of pulling the goalie… but I can tell you it does get better! No BFP for us yet, but I can say the panic is normal, and doesn’t mean you’re not ready!

StephyD216 : Ok good! I am happy to see other women feeling the same way! It’s a scary big choice to make! I hear it is very normal to have anxiety about buying a home too, is it the right time? Can we afford it? What if there are problems we didn’t foresee? So I think it is perfectly fine to have the same concerns regarding having a child. Because both are pretty permanent decisions that require a lot of thought and care. That is how I am choosing to look at it.

That’s a great comparison, I remember being nervous about that too! Its the unknown that is scary, but that’s an unavoidable part of life! I try to remember to enjoy the moment and remember the nervous/panic feelings are only a form of excitment!
