If you didn’t do fasting blood work, a result of 101 is totally normal. If it was fasting, you are barely above the normal range (>99). As long as you are eating a healthy, balanced diet and living a healthy lifestyle, you are okay.

Check out this link to the CDC website to the basics of diabetes and what your blood work numbers mean.  https://www.cdc.gov/diabetes/basics/getting-tested.html

MrsGirlyGirl :  Better yet, talk to your PCP and discuss what your results mean in the context of your lifestyle and medical history.  Google searches are good for stoking paranoia and not a whole lot else.

MrsGirlyGirl :  Fasting glucose doesnt really tell too much, actually you’ll need them to do your hemoglobin A1C and that will tell much more. In the meantime you could try doing a Mediterranean diet.

I don’t think 100 is particularly alarming unless you have been gaining weight. An A1C will give you a clearer picture. Your cholesterol is fine. Have you noticed any excess facial hair growth or missed periods? I sumlin resistance/PCOS  which can mess with your fertility.
