I’m 41 and it month 1 for us.  Because I needed a 2nd myo to even begin down this road, I’m excited to begin.  Our RE has given us 3 months before I have to go the medicated route so I’m praying to go the natural route.

There’s a # of Bees who are over 35 and have had no problems, while there’s those of us who have fertility problems.  I’ve had several friends who have become mothers in their late 30’s and early 40’s w/out a problem, while others have need fertility assistance.  I do suggest that you begin take prenatals, charting, utilizing OPKs, so really get to know your body and cycle.(I don’t temp cause it stresses me out too much)  And if you don’t get pregnant in 6 months, talk to your doctor.  Also ask the woman in your family if there is any family history of infertility. Do remember that it can take up to 8 months to get preggers w/out fertility issues so don’t freak out if it takes longer than 6 months.  So, getting pregnant may have nothing to do w/ your age.

Too be honest, my advance maternal age doesn’t freak me out cause I’ve done all that I’ve can to be as healthy as possible.  If it doesn’t happen naturally, there’s fertility assistance, so I know I will be a Mom somehow, someway.

Congrats on TTC! Have you heard of the Sperm Meets Egg Plan? I have quite a few friends who have been successful with it. Google it if you want to learn more ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi!! I am 36 and on cycle #3 of TTC (plan to POAS next wed!).  If we do not become PG after 6 cycles, then we will see my dr.  I do worry about my age but know a few ladies who were ‘older’ (38+) who had no issues/problems becoming PG and having happy healthy babies.  As a PP said, I too planned on having babies earlier in life…just didn’t work out that way!  Good luck to all of us!

I just turned 35 on Monday.  We are finally TTC next month.  I really hope 2012 is our year!  It took me forever trying to convince my Darling Husband that we are not getting any younger and let’s just try to do this now.  He kept putting it off for the past 6 months.  We just got married this past August.  It was a long and exhausting process but now we need to get started on our family.  We would love at least two biological children and adopt one child because Darling Husband was adopted.  Best of Luck Ladies!!!

I’m bumping this thread back up. Are any of these bees still on here, I wonder? Preggers I hope!

I am 35 and finally now TTC. I feel healthier than I did at 25 (when I was still raving and doing drugs) and I still get ID’d on a regular basis, Lol!

I have a good feeling it will happen naturally for us, but when I read to much online I feel stressed, like I’m an old woman!

Who else is trying for #1 at our “advanced” maternal age (joke!). or, #2, 3..?

@mtnhoney:  I am 38 and ill e 39 in March. I had fit irat child 3 weeks before my 30 birthday. I felt old then! I have to have a repeat Pap smear in Feb. then green light to try. Since we moved wedding back to June I am hopping by then for a summer conception. But I am more concerned now with my health over age. Holding on to more weight than before. My doctor says to cut back on fast food etc and I could easily drop ten pounds. Trying to put that into practice. Last time I tried I was charting using FF. This go round I will do the same and probably try those OPKs.

Hi Ladies, I can’t believe after reading my comment that this thread has been over a year old!  Now after 2 weeks, I just turned 36 and well I do have an exciting update! I currently just entered my third trimester.  I received my BFP one week before our 1 year wedding anniversary last year and that was the best gift ever! ๐Ÿ™‚  We finally began to actively try last March but I had a death in my family shortly afterwards around May/June so we didn’t really get started again until early July and now our bundle of joy will be arrving in late March of this year.  I too was worried about not getting pregnant, but actually it happened quicker than I imagined, even at our Advance Maternal Age.  Good luck ladies, be calm and definitely track your ovulation days becuase for me that was key since i’m not a regular 28 day cycle girl, i’m more like 32-34 so i do ovulate later in my cycle and i was able to pin point the right days correctly.  I’m already thinking of having number baby 2 not to far from now because of my age.  Perhaps when this baby turns 1, i’ll be back to TTC.  Best of luck ladies and I wish you a lot of baby dust**

@Wispy:  I know this is a year-old thread but I’m commenting here to see how it went for you, as I just turned 35 last week and we’ll be TTC next year.

What are the recommendations on readying your body for conception, especially at our age? I’ve Googled this topic, of course, but I’d like to hear suggestions from real women.

@leenh78:  It sounds like you and I are on a similar schedule. I turn 25 next month, but we won’t be ready to TTC until next summer or fall.

@Krispi:  Ha! The only difference is our 10-year age difference. You’ll likely have a much easier time than we will.

@leenh78:  Oh no! That was a total typo – I’m really turning 35 next month. (I wish I was only in my 20s!)

ETA: I can’t seem to edit my original post to make the correction. Is there a time limit on making edits or something?

@Krispi:  LOL! Don’t I know it! Although I would like to apply the knowledge of life that I have now to my 25-year-old self. I was an idiot at 25…
