My husband and I have been trying to conceive for a little while now, but my cycles are sometimes different each month. I started my period 3-10 and ended 3-14 my cycles are anywhere from 30 to 33 days. So I had ewcm on march 23 but I didn’t have ovulation pains until march 27th. My boobs don’t usually get sore until the week before I start sometimes even just a couple days before I start. What does this mean? Please help! I’ve also been cramping mildly in the same ovary I had the ovulation pain in

If you really want to get a better understanding of your cycle i would highly recommend OPKs – the cheapies off amazon are great- (to know ovulation is coming) and temping to ensure you ovulated. This will really help!

Echoing what the PP said, if you really want to understand your cycles and be sure you’re ovulating when you think you are, OPKs are the way to go.

ahay92 : OPKs and/or Temping. I find temping to be annoying so I don’t do it. I find trying to track cervical position and CM to be confusing and what I’m finding often disagrees with other symptoms.

I found temping to be so annoying and for me inaffective (I am a terrible sleeper and move around all night so could never get a very accurate resting temperature). I found the cheapie OPKs difficult to read, and they just stressed me out. I recommend ClearBlue digital OPKs- you don’t need the advanced ones (the ones that tell you that you are getting closer to ovulation)- just the regular ones with a clear frowny face or smiley face- they are 18 bucks on Amazon for a month’s supply. Definitely more expensive than the cheapies, but well worth the cost in the amount of aggravation it saves. I was having trouble getting pregnant and tried everything else. Tried ClearBlue digital, and it was the first month I got a clear idea that I was about to ovulate, BDed, and got pregnant.

I echo other PPs who recommend using OPKs and possibly temping. I purchased the digital Clearblue (not advanced) my first month trying and now am using the wondfo OPK strips and then confirming with the digi when I think I’ve got a positive OPK. I get EWCM nearly every day in the 5 days before I O and I’ve read that ovulation pain isn’t a reliable indicator of ovulation (although you do know your body best). Either way, as long as you’re BD multiple times during this period you’ll definitely be fine.

ahay92 : everything you said sounds pretty normal. I’m not understanding the question, I guess. You had ewcm few days prior to O pain, o pain on CD 17, and you have 30-33 day cycles which means you probably have 13-15 day LP. Your cycles are pretty much identical to mine. 10 months ttc for me, no bfp yet.
