may9584 :  it’s hard to know unless you’ve been tracking your cycles for a couple of months to know what your normal LP is.  Yes based on what you said if you ovulated 12 days ago then you might be able to get an answer from an FRER but unless you were temping you don’t know for sure you ovulated then (you can get a positive ovulation test without actually ovulating).  Best way is to take a test if it’s negative wait a week and see if AF shows up if not take another ๐Ÿ™‚

may9584 :  Most women can get a positive test anywhere from 9-12 DPO.  So if you ovulated on the 15th you are 9DPO now.  So you can start testing anytime.  You can use a first response test, just ignore the marketing.  Let’s say the marketing assumes you have a 15 day LP, so it’s saying it could get a positive test as early as 9DPO which is true sometimes.  It just depends on when the embryo implants.  I had a 9-10day luteal phase so I would never get a BFP “6 days before” my missed period.

may9584 :  Yes, you would want to temp and chart to see your luteal phase as well as to pinpoint ovulation.  The OPKs help but are not as accurate as charting.

I tested positive at 11DPO, 4 days before my period ๐Ÿ˜Š If you have cheapo tests like the [email protected] or Walmart ones it doesn’t hurt. I got a line on those at 11DPO, didn’t even need a FRER but did one anyways
