Hi, I’m in a similar situation to you. We’re on cycle 10 now but Darling Husband and I had all the usual tests done after about 4 months of trying and everything was normal, though my progesterone was on the lower end of normal.

The obvious next step for you would be to have your Darling Husband tested. If everything is normal then you can either keep trying for a bit longer (I know how frustrating it gets!) or maybe start something like clomid depending on where you are.

My RE wanted to get me started on that but I didnt feel quite ready for that. I’ve started seeing a naturopath and acupuncturist who work together and have identified a few things that a conventional doctor would not test for so I’m going to try for a few more months under them but I’m getting so impatient, it feels like it will never happen.

I actually posted about bv a few days ago but didn’t get any responses from anyone who has been through the same. It seems like not many people know about it even though it’s supposedly more common than thrush. I’ve been battling with it on and off since we started trying and like you have had antibiotics a number of times which throw my cycle off. There’s conflicting information online about whether it affects ttc but I know it’s important to have the right environment for sperm to survive so I’m really trying to keep on top of it.

Good luck to you, and just remember, it can take a perfectly normal, healthy couple around a year to conceive. I’m 30 and from experience with friends and family, it seems it can just take a bit longer than if we were in our 20’s.

Also, you might want to think about getting tested to check your tubes are clear. My RE made me have this done before he would talk about giving me clomid.

Ok well-, just a funny here, but I  tried 8 cycles with my first and then in exasperation I  threw my legs up over my head like some sort of yoga pose and stayed there a little while and we laughed ertc…  but, it worked.

Just throwing that out there,  good luck!

We had my Darling Husband checked out (he was fine) and then we did a couple rounds of clomid and one round of IUI. Both were unsuccessful. I ended up conceiving naturally a couple of cycles later.

Good luck!

hk2016:  I’m in the UK so I had a hycosy, which is similar to an hsg in the US where they insert dye and follow it’s path through your uterus and tubes via either x ray or ultrasound. It was pretty painless but it can come back inconclusive, which would then require a laparoscopy.

Just wanted to throw in my favorite little TTC nugget. It can be really helpful to re-frame your experience into what happens with women your age on the whole.

This is what the odds look like at 33… As you can see, 1/3 of normal, healthy 33 year olds don’t get pregnant in the first seven cycles. Youre not alone in this!!

BeachBee1988:  Is there a link for this?  I would like to put in different ages and see where I stand.
