Hey ladies – been TTC for about 13 months now. During this time I was diagnosed with PCOS and am not ovulating and last week my Darling Husband SA came back borderline his motility is slightly below the 50% average. After talking with my doctor she thinks the best chance for us to get pregnant is to have IVF but she said that she would try 3 months of monitored clomid with IUI. Did anyone else go through this process? Stories please

krstino1012: You should join us on the TTC w/ PCOS boards. Lots of women over there will be able to share their experiences with you. I also have PCOS and had my first IUI done last week. I did two IUIs back to back to increase my chances. I was on 200mg of clomid since the first round of 100mg did not make me ovulate. I had two follicles on my left ovary measureing 26mm and 24mm and my lining was at a 12. My Darling Husband sperm was perfect the tech said. Now I am just waiting in the TWW and it is not easy. I am hoping and praying it works. Trying not to over analyze but that is next to impossible. I am also on 2000 mg of metformin a day. Also had a HSG test and a hysteroscopy both done last month! Come over to the PCOS thread! 🙂

I had the HSG and hysteroscopy done last month and all clear on my end – they just need to get me to ovulate which is what the clomid will hopefully do. They told me no need for metformin as my PCOS is not insulin resistant.

I went through this route to get pregnant. I’m 38 weeks today. DH and I ttc’d for 15 months for most of which were a dud because I didn’t ovulate. Darling Husband also had what our RE desribed as a “borderline” SA. I took two rounds of clomid unmonitored without IUI and neither produced ovulation. Then we decided to try IUI with clomid (monitored this time around), metformin, ovidrel (trigger) and IUI and I fell pregnant on the first try.
