I don’t know how to respond to your other questions, however, in terms of the stone you should choose, what do you want out of it? Do you want it to look like a diamond? Do you want it to sparkle like crazy?

lolcat :  Haha no, I just don’t have a lot of experience with MoCo. I did purchase a stone and ring from them a bit ago but ended up returning it due to craftsmanship errors and me ultimately wanting it to be a diamond and it just not being mind clean. I can say that their customer service was excellent with me.

As for the stone, if you want depth, I would definitely choose either the H&A or the AGS. Both still sparkle and throw a lot of rainbow (just not as much as the original round brilliant cutting) and have a nicer depth to them. Here’s a comparison of three stones from left to right: AGS Moissanite, H&A moissanite, Ideal cut diamond. You can see that the crown angle is steeper in the AGS similar to a diamond’s and the H&A is only slightly less steep. The original round brilliant Moissanite cut is much more shallow which means a less dynamic stone.

Here’s a link to a few videos of my AGS (solitaire) compared to my diamond (3 stone) in different lighting:

Hope this helps! πŸ™‚

Hi! I just got.my custom ring.from.them and my experience was awesome.  They are very receptive to what you want  and answer all your questions! I ordered a round brilliant and to my surprise they upgraded my stone to their new AGS000! I can literally see the hearts and arrows when I look at my stone it’s beautiful!

lolcat :  I was very hesitant about purchasing from MoCo after a lot of bad reviews. But I was absolutely in love with their enr149 ring! I ended up going through StarsGem and having them make me a custom ring modeled after the MoCo one. It looks exactly like their ring, and I was able to customize a few aspects of it. And it was less than half of the price I would have paid if I got it through them! I highly recommend SG. my ring is GORGEOUS.

I have their hearts & arrows round, with thicker arrows, and it is the GH color. it sparkles soooo much and has so much depth. I get compliments all the time!

to answer your question about your ring, unless you’re changing something about the setting, I don’t see why platinum would be considered custom.

here is my ring compared to the one I modeled it after πŸ™‚

I love the tulip settings! πŸ™‚ I got mine (also moissanite) from Brilliant Earth in platnium. More expensive but had some piece of mind because we got to try it on in person and if there are issues can more easily get a resolution.

Mine is the peony, but you may also be interested in the Catalina which is without the cathedral:

lolcat :  SG was really great and I had a wonderful experience! Grace was the sales associate I used and she was very responsive and easy to work with. My main customizations were my surprise stones, my prongs, and my miligrin detail. the only measurement I specifically asked for was my band width and just asked that my cathedral setting be relatively low. then I used CADs on here to compare and I asked for input from other bees πŸ™‚

lolcat :  I have found Tianyu to be easy to communicate with.  I talk to Sue through the Alibaba website chat app, which is really easy to use.  They aren’t perfect and their attention to detail is less than a North American company, which I believe is commensurate with the very low pricing.  You can see my CAD on the last page of the Pricescope link I posted.  It’s a 7.5mm with shared prong side stones.  I could have paid two or three times as much and gotten a more “perfect” ring, but I’m so happy with the price that I can get a new one in a few years if I want!

I had Tianyu make my tulip ring. It’s based on the BE one, though idk that they got the proportions exactly right. Mine is a H&A moissanite, F color, set in white gold that hasn’t been plated in rhodium.
