I am wearing a tulle ballgown wedding dress. The ballgown itself has 6 layers. I just wondered how I would go about bustling this and if any tulle ballgown ladies (if any of you exist) can let me see pictures or their dresses (cheekily) and their bustles. Would love any help with this as the train on my dress is quite big.

This is my crazy 5ft tulle train:
And this is the train bustled – it was a 9 point bustle. However I must warn you half of the little hoops to hook over the buttons broke on my wedding night. If your train is complicated and huge like mine they will just be creative and make you a specialized bustle.
So by the end of the night I was holding the train on the broken side on my wrist with the loop under the dress.
So when you sit with your dress bustled I recommend picking it up a bit behind you so you don’t pull at the bustle as you sit.

@FMM: Thankyou. I knew I could rely on you! Did your bustle hook up and under or just up. My train might be the same length as yours and while they said it wouldn’t be a problem I don’t have the greatest faith in them. Thanks for pointing out the possible pitfalls. I still adore your wedding dress 🙂

The bustle was just hooked up not under!
Good luck with your bustle! I was really nervous about mine when they were doing it because the seamstress was trying to figure out how to do it when I was in the dress and she seemed really frustrated. However, I was really impressed with the outcome.
Only if those little hoops didn’t break LOL! I totally get it though the dress was so heavy and those little hoops were sewn into tulle which doesn’t have much integrity as a fabric.

bump? I’m still looking at bustle ideas for my organza ballgown.
