My fiance and I went band shopping together and found one he likes which is just a simple Tungsten band…nothing special but he really likes it! It was only $99 !

My Fiance got a tungsten ring.  His ring was $250, and I ended up just getting a plain band for about $150.

@MrsStrawberry24: Did you find a place that had tungstun rings in quarter sizes?  Or did you order a 12?  i ordered FI’s on overstock which only had half sizes.  Belden’s also said they only came in half sizes… so I gave up figuring if a jewlery store couldn’t get quarter sizes, then it must really not exist?

We got his band from Amazon. It was very inexpensive and nice.

My hubby had a tungsten band until he got it caught in the car door. Damn thing broke into 3 pieces lol. He loved the tungsten for when he was outside and working on the car, etc (he also has a stainless steel band with diamonds for everyday wear). We are definitely getting him another one soon

Hubs has a tungsten carbide ring.  His is comfort fit, so we had to size down a half size from his measured size.

@Fishy: actually they can be easily broken off. Tungsten is very durable, true, BUT it is also very brittle. It has almost no flexibility (oppoiste of gold) so it is durable, but given proper forces it can shatter. There are demos on youtube all over on how to shatter tungsten in case of an emergency.

really don’t know too much about tungsten – should check on that! but our jeweler is making a replica of the classic Cartier mens band in titanium for $40 for my Fiance… gotta love having a go-to jeweler!  🙂

My FH picked out a tungston band.  He liked the darker color of the metal and we both liked the durability.  The jeweler threw it in for free since we spent $3,600 for my wedding band on top of what he spent on the engagement ring.

@MrsStrawberry24: careful on the scratching! tungsten is very very hard and is less likely to get scratched than other metals — but it can still scratch anyway.  my brother-in-law is a mechanic, and has scratched up his tungsten ring plenty. he really wishes he took it off for work.

I just wanted to say that just in case, so your Fiance doesn’t put it in extreme circumstances. there is no such thing as a completely scratch-free ring.

congrats– they are very cool looking rings!

I also saw a couple places on Etsy for Tungston rings, some for like $30!

My Darling Husband lost his ring while tubing a couple weekends ago. He had lost weight since the wedding and didn’t get a new one, so as soon as it got wet; slipped right off!! :-/

We paid $250 for his original a store, so I’m very excited to find ones for less than $50!

We got a gift card at a bridal show for two free wedding bands so I got him a tungsten one to wear at work (construction) and I got it engraved inside with our special saying… but I also ordered him one with diamonds for $400 for special occasions and to be blessed at the church.
