Are you doing a tour of either country or are there specific cities you are chosing between?

I LOOOOVVVVVVEEEEEEE Bodrum so I’m completely biased.  However, I will warn you that if you don’t speak Turkish, it can be tricky to get around.  Most of the waiters and vendors speak adequate English, but if you try to take a minibus to any of the neighboring villages, you’ll want to know numbers/money vocabulary at the very least.  There are so many fabulous places around there, though, I highly recommend it.  If you want more info or suggestions, feel free to PM me!

I’ve been to both. I liked Italy, but Turkey was life-enriching. I had a friend there who spoke some turkish which made getting around easier, but we chose to go to several different places- Istanbul, Izmir/Ephesus, Pamukkale, and Goerme. The long-distance overnight busses are safe and affordable. But I may be biased against Italy because we went in the middle of the highest tourist season when it was very very hot and crowded.

I would go to Turkey personally.  I’ve been to Italy and agree on the crowds.  Plus Turkey is a unique destination for a honeymoon which makes it special.  We definitely approached our honeymoon as an opportunity to go somewhere we wouldn’t normally have the opportunity or the time to go to.

i heard the Turks & Caicos are fabulous. They were quite out of our price range, so if you go, you better post us some pics!
