What a great idea!  I’ve seen something similar (on a smaller scale) for personal sized pinatas.  I, too, would love to see the finished product!  :o)

This is great! I’m just a little confused about how you would actually get lights and hang them…. are there lights made for this? Could you be a little more specific about this step?

oh also… do you need to grease the balloon or anything so the paper doesn’t stick?

@corgi – I think the point is for the paper to stick to it, until you pop it. It’s similar to papermache when we were kids. If they’re totally dry, popping the baloon should leave just a perfect lantern, in tact. 🙂
