My husband, father of the bride, was fitted for his tuxedo yesterday at Men’s Wearhouse. Couldn’t believe the sizes they came up with. Is tuxedo sizing that much different from regular suits?
They say 44 for coat. He wears 42.
They say 36 for slacks. He wears 33.
They say 17 for shirt. He wears 16.
Worried that his tux will be baggy from top to bottom!!!
Should we be concerned?

In my experience, Tuxedo sizing is a lot like women’s sizing when it comes to brand-names / Designers. You HAVE TO TRY before you Buy or Rent… in that everyone seems to set their own sizing.
Mr TTR (who is over 60) bought a Tuxedo last year (although not from Men’s Wearhouse / Moores). And his experience (and sizing) is quite similar to your Hubby’s. And yes he too was surprised with “the numbers” he ended up buying. When the Oscar de la Renta Tuxedo came in, he only had to have the seamstress / tailor hem the pants.
Hope this helps,

When we went in for my Fiances fitting they did the same thing with his measurements. They exlpained their reasoning and it made sense, how ever that was a while ago and I honestly can’t remember what exactly they said. Maybe call them up and ask them to explain? I’m sure they are used to doing so.
