We did black CK suits, but you can find a good selection and alot of brown and grey at burlington coat factory.  We bought the guys suits and shirts and the total was right around $130 each.

I’m letting the Fiance do what he wants. I’m pretty sure he wants a suit and he will probably just buy it. I would *prefer* the guys in white because I think it will look so sharp with them in white and my girls in black but that’s his decision. This is his wedding too 😀

They were Calvin Klein so the quality was really good.  I wish I had a good picture of them but I don’t for a few weeks at least.

It makes sense for the guys to spend the money and buy a suit, especially since they don’t own suits themselves.  They will need one sooner or later.  If you think they don’t have the funds to pay $180 each for suits plus alterations, you can find suits much cheaper.  I ordered DHs suit from overstock.com.  He then took it to a local tailor for alterations.  The suit was less than $100 and alterations were about $50.

I would poll the guys and ask *them* if they think it’s worth it to spend that money.

I think it’s kind of funny that we don’t have any problem at all with expecting BMs to buy dresses, but we think twice about asking Groomsmen to buy a suit.

BMs buy their dresses, shoes, and jewelry. They get their hair done and manicures. The attend showers where they have to buy a gift for the bride…  GMs don’t have to do any of that stuff for the groom.

When you look at the cost of being a Groomsmen compared to the cost of being Bridesmaid or Best Man, I’d say the Groomsmen have the better deal. I think it’s perfectly reasonable to ask them to buy their suits.
