I think I gained around 40-45. The weight came off fairly easily, the real problem is the loose skin and stretch marks…

mama2bee71 :  Everyone is sooo different.  It isn’t always all bad with twins.  I gained about 30 lbs and do not have any stretch marks.  My babies were good sizes too, 7 lb 8 oz and 5 lb 14 oz.  My skin I guess is a tad loose still (babies are 4 months) but it isn’t noticable.  If you plan to breastfeed, that will take care of the weight in no time.  I was back to my pre-pregnancy weight within a week surprised  Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy and try not to worry about the weight.  It will come off.  Twins are worth all the extra work and hardships!!

mama2bee71 :  some people claim certain creams can help but I don’t believe in that stuff.

like the other poster said, everyone’s body type is different so you never know what will happen. I think being fit and having a good exercise regime is good. I personally have never been very disciplined about working out, so i think if I was more regular with it my body could recover better.

I didn’t gain anything in the first tri as I had severe sickness, but i gained around 30lb by the end. Babies were 5lb and 6lb 4. I got a few stretchmarks but no loose skin. There is next to nothing you can do about stretch marks and skin – it’s your genetics – so just don’t worry about it.

I gained 60+ lbs but it was pretty much all retained water. I was SO swollen the anesthesiologist had a tough time getting the spinal centered. The plus is that 2 weeks PP most of the weight is gone, the rough part is it left through HORRENDOUS night sweats. My babes were 6 lb 10 oz (20 inches) and 6 lb 6 oz (19.5 inches) when delivered at 37 weeks. No stretch marks, somehow.
