- Wedding: August 2010
Today’s Thursday, it’s about 10 a.m. On Monday I went laying out on the beach to tan for the wedding. Nice job. BUT stupid me comes home and sits in air conditioning. BE CAREFUL SUMMER WEDDING BEES ABOUT THAT! Within a couple of hours the cold symptoms come on.
So to get better the last couple of days I’ve done a lot: for exampke, I’ve drank hot fluids, some water, while steaming my veil I’ve sat in the steamy bathroom (which would help while in there), NOT HAD THE AIR CONDITIONER ON IN MY HOUSE WHEN IT’S SUMMER, WORN LONG-SLEEVED SHIRTS OUTSIDE IN F—-G 90 DEGREE WEATHER B/C IF I WALK INTO AIR CONDITIONING MY NOSE GETS STUFFY.
I try to sleep at night to rest but unfortunately no matter what I can’t win: I shouldn’t have the air conditioner on but I NEED to b/c it’s summer and I can’t sleep if I’m hot and sweaty and uncomfortable, but if I do sleep with the air conditioner on it makes the cold worse! And I think that’s why I’m not better yet, I’ve had to have the air conditioner on while I sleep. Big problem too is that my bedroom is small and the air conditioner blows right AT me.
If I go more than a few days without 8 hours sleep, I’m a disaster and can barely function. And now it’s been 3 days. I have to get up early tomorrow, and obviously Saturday (day of wedding). What bugs me is that I look REALLY run down. If I don’t get enough sleep my face looks bad to begin with. My FH says I look pretty bad.
Well my solution is this: to do everything possible to get rid of the symptoms today: drink a TON of hot liquids–herbal tea, no air conditioning in the house, steaming in the bathroom, wearing socks and a hat. We have to go to the mall today to finish our shopping. I am bringing a sweater and hot liquids b/c they turn up the air conditioner in that building.
Then I need to go to bed early tonight. This time I’m going to sleep in the living room, where I can turn on air conditioning if I need to sleep, but it won’t be blowing on me. The air conditioner is located in the dining room , and I’ll sleep on the couch.
Basically my biggest fear is looking AWFUL on the wedding day.
Oh I also have my period, which makes me feel worse. Though I won’t be bleeding heavily on the wedding day, that should be over, just a little.
Do you think the makeup artist at the salon can work miracles in this area, if I look run down or have a cold still? Any suggestions, besides tea bags, for puffiness under the eyes and face?
