That is my plan, too — except there’s an even more natural gap, where we have ceremony, photos and dinner at one site and dance/party at a second site, so I’ll change upstairs at the ceremony site when we finish with dinner, and arrive at the party in my short dress (and completely different accessories).

I’m looking forward to the surprise (actually, only the parents, fiance and my sister know about the existence of the ceremony dress because I bought/showed off the more casual dress first, so that’s thrilling to me)!

We’re having a ceremony and light lunch for two hours starting from 1.30pm at one venue, then 1.5 hour break, most of which will be spent travelling to the reception venue 1 hour away. Drinks in the garden of the venue (weather permitting) at 5pm, then going inside the venue for a trivia/games competition at 6pm, then dinner and dancing from 7pm onwards.

At this stage, I plan to wear the ceremony dress for the ceremony, photos and drinks hour at the second venue. Then when everyone’s going inside for the trivia, I’ll go into the bridal room and change, and we’ll come back out then and start the trivia. (Possibly running the trivia ourselves if we can’t get someone to do it.)

Then possibly changing back into the cermony dress when I trip over and spill red wine on myself. *Sighs*
