I’m torn between two dresses, a similar topic with other Bees, and I thought I’d post and ask for opinions!
There are a few things I love:
1. Alencon Lace (but not all over, have to have some separation to SEE the lace), WITH fringe/eyelash
2. Silky shine of a duchesse/silk-faced satin, especially as I’m a winter bride
3. Chapel Length train +/- ribbon bow with long tails
I’ve narrowed it down to two dresses that are polar opposites! I’m seriously considering selling the dress after and keeping the veil only, so that’s weighing on me too!
A. Martina Liana 346 – “all over” lace (how I like it – slightly separated), with eyelashes (though it’s a tad bugging me that a few of the strands stand out more); would have to go with a simple veil. (I have pics of this one ON me)
B. Jim Hjelm 8106 – the Antique goes with my coloring really well, I love the ruched bodice and SHINE of the fabric. No lace – BUT will plan to add a 6 inch scalloped lace border on the hem with small build up of lace in the middle front and back from the hem, and potentially peekaboo scallop (with eyelash!) lace around neckline/backline. Also would bring up the elongated waist a bit (I don’t want a butt hugger!). Bonus: could go with a super lacey veil to pass down! (Don’t have personal pics of me in the dress)
Please give me your thoughts!!!

I think the first one is best but I’m a sucker for lace!! Beautiful!

Welcome to Weddingbee! I have to say I absolutely love that first dress! Lace is just gorgeous and in my eyes you cannot beat that silhouette, especially on your figure!
Perhaps you could add a poll? There should be a link near the top of your post 🙂

first. it looks a lot more sophisticated to me. Im not a fan of satin for wedding dresses, and that one seems particularly shinny

I tried on the Martina one and it’s very beautiful in person! I especially loved the lace she uses on the edge/train. It looks great on you!
The fact that you want to make so many changes to the Jim Hjelm makes me think it’s not the one for you, not to mention maybe very expensive to alter it so much?
