FH and I can’t decide on what we want for our first dance, but definitely want to keep it within the 40s/50s theme. Therefore, we came up with a solution; we each pick one song that’s fairly short and have it transition into the other one.
Mine would be “Easy Living” by Billie Holiday: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RX7TA3ezjHc
and his would be “Blue Moon” by Frank Sinatra: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jgi1txjrKZk
I think it’s a fun idea since it’s kind of like we’re speaking to each other through the music…very romantic. We’ll probably take some basic dance classes before our wedding just so it’s not awkward, but those should be fine together, right? It’d be about 5 minutes total, give or take a little, which is still shorter than a good deal of the first dance songs I’ve seen at actual weddings…and since it’s two different songs, it should keep the interest.
What do you Bees think? 🙂
