Hello ladies, my name is Roselyn and I am new to the bee. A few days ago I posted about my Maggie Sottero gown, Lynda. The reason for my origional post was that I am having second thoughts about whether its the right dress.
I had always pictured myself in a more fun style of gown, however when I tired on Lynda it just seemed to do all the right things for my body shape. So then they question became, do I go for the style I had always imagined, or the style that suits me best.
I purchased the Lynda gown because it was a sample sale and I didnt want to lose it, but now I am having serious regrets about not having the style i had been thinking of.
The question now is do I just stick with the dress I bought (and do love), or do I purchase the other gown I had in mind, or do I wear both?!?!?!
Money is not really the issue as they are both sample sales and together would be under my original budget. My main worry is that I won’t get enough time to enjoy both dresses, or I wont want to take off the first one.
Has anyone out there worn two gowns? I know there are a lot of women who have one gown and then one dress and they don’t change until later in the reception. If I were to get two gowns though I think I would have to change earlier so I get some wear and pictures from both.
Any suggestions and advice would be much appreciated, thanks!

The first one is my favorite out of the two. It seems to work with your body the best. 🙂

The dresses are really different in style and therefore they each give a unique feel to your wedding, sadly I feel it would be difficult to really wear both because they don’t seem to go well enough together to fit into one “theme” or “style” of wedding. They both look really great on you so I think you just have to decide what you want the feel of the wedding to be like. The first one is very elegant and sophisticated and the 2nd one is very whimsical and flirty. I hope that helped, best of luck!

dude i know exactly how you feel. I ended up purchasing a dress that I loved but had so many second thoughts about because it wasn’t exactly what I thought I’d get. But i still LOVED it and despite the nagging feeling of having chosen too quickly, I could never really find anything NOT to like about it. I look back on my photos now and just love love love the way I look! I think you should stick with the first dress because it is stunning on you, truly, and I can see why you chose it. it’s SO flattering! the second one has more detail and is very nice, but does not come close to how gorgeous the Lynda looks on you. and i definitely don’t think you should wear both. i feel like the point of a reception dress is to be an easier party dress to dance in, not another gown that’s just going to compete with your ceremony dress.

Thanks so much for the nice comments, you have all made me feel so much better about the dress I bought!

@j.andrews.bridal: Thanks, my plan for the second dress was to take the flowers off of the shoulder strap as well as the band around the waste and replace it with an antique brooch to tie in the vintage feel I want for the wedding. I think that would tie the dresses together better as well if I were to do that. Then the problem would still be when to change and whether or not I would want to when it came time!
I like how you mentioned choosing the what style I wanted, thats where it gets complicated. The second dress matches my style better, where the first dress (I feel) is more flattering on me. Oh so confusing! 🙂

@Kemi82Justice of the Peace: Wow thats how I feel to a T! I just keep thinking that I should have waited because a better dress might come along and that I made a decision to quickly. I also can’t find anything not to like about the dress though. The only thing is that I wonder if I should have gone bigger ( I mean when else will I ever wear a gown right)? I am also nervous because I know I still have almost a year to go before the wedding and I don’t want to feel this way the entire time! Did you stop looking at other dresses after you bought yours? Its hard not to see other dress (even online) and wonder… maybe that would be a better choice. Decisions decisions…

while both dresses are goregous, i really like the second one better. nothing against the first dress except for the dropped waist, i’m not really a fan. regardless of which one you choose, you’ll look divine on your wedding day!

The first gown is amazing! I think it is more orginal than the second one.

They are both beautiful and you look beautiful in them. I chose the first one though because I think it really highlighted your shape in a positive way. I am sure no matter which one you pick you are going to look stunning!

Hi! I voted for the Lynda, becaused I’m biased….I just bought it today! You look absolutely stunning in it. It’s funny because, just like in your case, it’s absolutely nothing like what I had pictured in my head (I thought I wanted lace and ruffles, no satin and absolutely NO rhinestones!), but once I put it on I couldn’t imagine wearing anything else. So I’ll pass on the advice that I myself received today….go with what you feel best in, not what you think you should feel best in! 🙂
