wow, that is kind of awkward! 😮

do they look similar enough that maybe the people wouldn’t notice if you didn’t use theirs?

well…most of the time when I see a guestbook, no one even looks at the front cover; it’s just open to the page where everyone is signing! I think you might be able to get away with only using one…

Also, I think if people give a gift that you can only use one of, they shouldn’t expect it must be used. You should use the one from whoever is closer to you (parents/sibling/grandparent,) hopefully one is from someone obviously closer to you; if they are both from people close to you, then you should be able to explain the situation, but if they are from people not as close, then you can use the one you like better, and hope that the other person assumes that the one you are using was from someone close, and don’t lose sleep over it!

ETA: oh, I just saw about the weddingthumprint book- that might make your problem easier! Just do that and no one can get offended! They gave you a gift assuming that you would be following a custom, and you’re not, so that’s not your problem!

People will not want to sign a guest book twice for one wedding so if you want to have one at the ceremony and then another at the reception that might be a bit much

If you had other plans, I’d plan on returning the guest book. Thank the people who gave them and apologize that you had already figured that out and you won’t be using it.

We have a beautiful blank book that my fiance made during high school, but my Future Mother-In-Law bought us a guest book so we have to use that.  I don’t particularly care except that the one she she bought has pages with printed lines in two columns and with “Guest Book” written at the top of each page.  It looks like people are just supposed to sign in with their address instead of writing a nice note.  So I’m not too thrilled about that and not sure what to do.

We are doing two. I ordered a photobook from walgreens and the other one is from the photobooth pictures.

Oh I got an idea for the 2nd book. Why don’t you use it for after the wedding to write down what people gave you as gifts?
