My fiance and I are trying to plan out our ceremony, and we are running into a bit of trouble…hopefully you all will have some advice for us, because we have no idea what to do! My fiance’s dad is a pastor, but he is not officiating at our ceremony. I have a close family friend who I have wanted to officiate at my wedding since I was a little girl, and although it was a tough decision to not choose FH’s dad, we decided to go with my family friend being the one to actually officiate. Everybody is okay with this arrangement (future father-in-law says it will be nice to get to watch one son’s wedding, as he performed the other son’s). FH and I still would like to incorporate his dad into some part of the ceremony, however. Any thoughts on how to do this? We don’t want there to be any weird or awkward transitions between ministers, but we can’t think of another way to allow both ministers to participate without having them just randomly switch off… Any advice you have would be greatly appreciated!
