I can’t believe it’s so close! And I know once Christmas is over it will be ridiculous how fast time flies.
We are pretty much done… just small details that have to be done last minute and the seating plan that has to wait until we get all our RSVPs back. Our officiant had to cancel due to family medical issues, so we just found a new one and have to work out the ceremony details with him. My dress is altered, I have all my accessories, and our wedding party is all set as well.
How’s it going for you? And what are your honeymoon plans? We are going to Hawaii for 10 days – we leave the Monday after our wedding. It’s gonna be an excellent month!

I know it’s soo crazy how fast time is flying!! And yeah I agree, once all the holidays are over it’ll be right around the corner 😀
We are on the same page, we have all of the big vendors booked we just need the little details. Well and still trying to figure out if I should do fresh flowers or just let the venue use their silk ones and call it a day. So many decisions.
By the way, when did you get your dress altered? I called my place and they barely made my appointment for Jan 18th and i’m really getting worried that it won’t be enough time to have my dress altered :S And we haven’t received our bridesmaid dresses..
Geesh I thought I was almost done but I guess I still have a loot to do..
As far as honeymoon, we just booked it yesterday! We are going to cancun for 7 days and leave the following monday too. We are sooo looking foward to just relaxing after all the stress is over 😀

*Commence freak out* We have no idea what we’re doing for a honeymoon. I’ve pretty much left that up to him. He’s got his heart set on Puerto Vallarta but that’s as far as plans go.
I still have so much DIY stuff to do. Still have to order my flowers. Still have to get more items for our centerpieces. I still have to get my dress altered. Gah. I’m so glad we decided for an “off-season” wedding.

@mco06: Yah, mine’s a corset so I figured we might as well do alterations early and even if I did change size (which I haven’t in years), the corset gives some wiggle room. I started alterations in late October and had a couple fittings, and just picked up the finished product on Saturday. I could have done it faster if I had gone in for the next fitting as soon as she finished that stage of alterations, but I just picked weekend appointments that worked for me and my mom. A month ahead for you should be enough time, do you know what you will need done?
@LiliKitty: Puerto Vallarta would be good. I’ve only been to the Riviera side, but last year I knew about 5 separate people who went to PV and loved it.

@Pinkmoon: two and a half months! Lets all just pause as I freak. The. Eff. Out.
Is it bad that we still haven’t sent out our invitations? I was going to wait until after the holidays so they don’t get lost in the shuffle. Our venue only needs 2 weeks notice on the final menu numbers, and it’s a small wedding, so I’m hoping that will all work out.
i have my first fitting on Saturday, which is super exciting! I’ve been working out like a crazy woman, so I’m hoping it pays off (and that I can keep this up.) I still haven’t decided on a veil. What are all you February ladies doing? I’m torn between a simple chapel length one, or a real pretty bubble veil, which would show the back depress press (which I love.)
Can I also just say how amazing cake tastings are? What is everyone else doing for yummy dessert?

We sent out our invitations ten days ago and already have a dozen responses back. Yay! Our RSVP deadline isn’t until mid-January but I think the early birds wanted to mail it back before they totally forgot about it.
@BlondeBee: Don’t freak out! You have time. 🙂 How did your first fitting go? Mine was a few days ago and I’m so excited about the dress! Still trying to decide on veil or no veil. As for wedding dessert, we’re having a gingerbread wedding cake and passing out individual servings of brown butter pumpkin cake batter topped with a dollop of ginger whipped cream. Yes, it’s as amazing as it sounds. 😀

Essh!! You know in just over 2 weeks, we will all be saying “I’m getting married next month!” I seriously cannot believe how fast time goes!!
@Pinkmoon: I am completely jealous you are going to Hawaii for your honeymoon!! I have always wanted to go, and to spend 10 days there is just going to be amazing!!! We’re going to the Bahamas for our honeymoon. We’re leaving the Saturday after our wedding so we’ll have a little time to get settled before we leave.
@mco06: You definitely have plenty of time to get your dress altered! I don’t have my first alterations appointment until January 11, and though it makes me freak out slightly, I know it’s plenty of time… but boy I do like to control things haha.
Let’s see, we really have everything done. All the vendors are booked, final menu is picked out and the invitations have been sent! I sent them out last week not wanting them to get lost in the Christmas shuffle. Part of me wonders if if people won’t be as quick to return them since they have 6 weeks to respond. But oh well, nothing I can do about it now! I feel like now is the time to sit back and relax… is that wrong?! One small hiccup, I had a bridesmaid bail out almost 2 months ago… So I asked my other good friend to be a bridesmaid. She couldn’t be more excited, unfortunately, the bridal shop says her dress will be arriving around the second week of February eeeekkkk!!!
@mojitolady: OMG does that ever sound delicious!! Your guests will be in heaven!!!!!! We’re having an almond cake with raspberry and chocolate buttercream. They actually made a cupcake of it at our tasting and my mom said it tastes amazing. I myself have celiac so I couldn’t taste it. But next month I have to order my delicious gluten free carrot cake. I’m pretty excited to have a whole cake to eat haha.

@Pinkmoon: well it needs to be taken in the waist/hip area since it’s a bit big and have it shortened a bit aswell. I guess I’m just a bit worried since it’s a corset with boning, but I know the place knows better and I’ll get it one on time..
I know time is just flying by! And I just got my veil yesterday and it made me realize just how much closer it is :). As far as the cake tasting, we were about to do it 2 weeks ago but had to cancel due to snow and now we have to wait til January.
Most of the invitations have been sent and the menu is done. It’s all the little details now- hair/makeup, music list, photograph locations, wrapping up the favors, and flowers.

@Pinkmoon: Ahhhh February is right around the corner. I’m in panic mode lol. I still have to get the labels printed for the invites and get them sent out. Meet with the priest. Discuss music. My mom is still dragging her ass on getting the affidavit back to the priest.
Quetion. We don’t have a lot of out of town guests. Our parents and bridal party know about the hotel arrangements. Do we have to send that info with the invites? Do we print it out on cardstock and put it with the invites? Thanks!

Less than 2 months now! My to do list is getting both smaller and bigger as it gets closer. Everything major is done, but there’s lots of little stuff I want to make sure I remember. And confirming everything with all the vendors too. And figuring out when to do my nails, wax, etc. Also my bridesmaid still needs to book her flight here so I’ve been trying to help that process along… she’s a huge procrastinator.
The RSVP process is going pretty smooth though! We have 128 coming, and less than 30 to still hear back from. We know the majority of the 30 are coming though, they are mostly just my fiancé’s lazy guy friends.
@MrsSweetT: I didn’t. We hardly had any out of town guests either, so I didn’t bother. The way I see it… adults can arrange their own hotel!

@Pinkmoon: Ok awesome. That’s what I figured as well. Same with directions. Everyone has the Internet and is capable of finding their way. Plus the older guests will be driving with other family. So yeah lol

omgggggggg guys. i have SO MUCH TO DO. i am lucky because i did a lot of things suuuuper early but then the wedding took a back seat to this professional portfolio i have to submit january 31. it’s really been ruining my planning. so we literally have TONS to do… need to finish the luggage tags, finish the place cards, finish menus & table numbers, make throwies, finish the ceremony, load our music up, finish getting parent/BP gifts, stuff guest bags… i still need to find sandals. i need to finalize everything with the resort. my fiance NEEDS A SHIRT AND SHOES. haha.
my fittings start jan 8 so i’m desperately trying to lose another 10 lbs before then. i’m down 30ish so… hopefully the dress looks better. I NEED TO START TANNING. our wedding is in dominican soooo if i don’t get a bit of a base i will burn to a crisp.
this thread stresses me out. i have so much to do… hahaha.
i keep reminding myself… we have the paperwork and i have a dress. everything else is just extra… RIGHT?

What are your bachelorette/shower plans? I’m not having a shower, but I will be doing a bachelorette with my girl friends at the end of January. Typical dinner/drinks at a bar type night. It’s the dead of winter though so I had a hard time picking a cute outfit! I ended up ordering a silver sequined one shoulder tunic type dress that I’ll wear with black tights. I think the other girls are all wearing pink.
And as far as I know, my fiancé’s friends are planning to kidnap him for a boys weekend on Dec 27th. I’m going to pack him a bag so that he has no idea until they show up to pick him up. The surprise aspect of it was my idea, so I hope he loves it!

Invitations are printed, assembled, addressed, & ready to mail. I put it off so long that now I want to wait until the lunatics trying to mail last minute christmas gifts are done. A friend is doing my food, so I need to get with her and start planning a menu. I should probably try my dress on to make sure it fits, but since it’s an empire waist I have a little wiggle room. Flowers will be picked up either the day before or the day of (to take advantage of the after Valentine’s Day sales). Decorations are whatever I can get borrowed from friends, and I’m doing pretty well so far. My big concern right now is wedding rings; we need to get with it and figure out what we’re doing there. Other than that, whatever isn’t done won’t get done. I am so ready for these next 2 months to fly by.

You guys that have had an easy RSVP process are so lucky!
Mine has been so painful – I think we’ve had to track down a good 70% of our guests. And that’s with giving them a grace period. Can’t wait till the RSVPs are done!!
Otherwise, everything’s going pretty well. We just had our menu tasting today and it was so delicious! My dress is being altered, all my accessories are purchased and the girls are getting their dresses altered over the next few weeks. We finally made a decision on cake about a month ago. The florist, photographer and DJ were set ages ago (it feels like, anyway!). All the stuff for the centerpieces are pretty much accumulated.
As much as I’ve checked off the list, all the little details are piling up now!
I’ll be so happy when it’s the day of!
We were planning to go to Jamaica soon after the wedding, but now we might postpone our honeymoon for a few months … A house that was a killer deal popped up so we’re also in the middle of renovations!
