Hi all! Shoe question here! Soooo I really want to be comfy at my wedding – and when I found these slippers I thought – THIS IS PERFECT!!! I really think they are cute, and they are soooooo comfortable – and they have sparkes on them so they’re totally wedding-y:
So then I started thinking about pictures, and the ceremony, and how I would LOVE to have some sort of colored shoe…not with a big heel, but something that is cute and I could get those cute “shoe shots”…and I found THESE ON SALE at JC Penneys…and they are so cute! And they could be my something blue! 🙂 (link is at the bottom – sorry I couldn’t post the pic directly here)
They have a 2 1/2 inch heel though so my question IS…will this screw up my dress length when it comes to alterations? Can I wear the small heels first and the slippers later, or will I be tripping on my dress when I wear the slippers? Can I get my dress altered to somewhere in between the two lengths…or is this just a bad idea all together? Please tell me what you think! I am so bad at this stuff! Thank you! 🙂 🙂
PS: I am looking at the turquoise color:

I would think that you’d have to get it altered to the shorter length but talk to your seamstress and see what she says. I’ve seen too many brides trip over wearing a gown with heels, so you could def. do it with your slippers on.

Thanks for the advice! 🙂 Do you think that the shorter length will look odd and too short when I have my heels on?

Is anyone else wearing two pairs of shoes with different sized heels?

I posted a same question a few weeks ago. I am wearing 4 inch heels to ceremony and then most likely going to change to something more comfortable. With all of this said, girls at the Alfred Angelo (that is where i got my dress) suggested to not alter the length but just create more pickups, my dress has pickups. What kind of a dress you have?

I am not, bu would think the easiest solution would be to have the gown pre-bustled done for the longer length then have the bustle done to accomodate your slippers!! (Presuming your dress has a bustle, of course…if not, you’re gonna hafta do it for the lower shoe/slipper)…hope this helps!

@mashka – Thanks for the tip! Unfortunately I do not have pickups but that is a great solution for you! 🙂
@tweds – Thank you! I did not think about the bustle! Yes, my dress will have a bustle – I will talk to my seamstress about it once I get my dress! 🙂
