@BoxerLady:  You can start taking prenatal vitamins at any time. They have many wonderful benefits (some of which you mentioned) and do not necessarily have to be taken because of an impending pregnancy.

I took them for about 2 years before I actually got pregnant and i was on the pill for 1.5 years of that. They have many of the same vitamins as the women’s multivitamin I had been taking, but with extra folic acid (which is beneficial to everyone, not just fetuses).

As for personal experience, I did not notice a difference in my hair or nails until I actually got pregnant. Have you seen a Dr. about your hair falling out? It could be a sign of a thyroid issue or something more serious than just stress…..

I just talked to my doctor about this and she said that I should start taking prenatal vits 3 months before trying. But, as PP stated, she took them two years before so sounds like you be fine to start 🙂

@BoxerLady:  I had the exact same situation. We cried a lot we werent married yet and well in the end it all happens for a reason. We want to get pregnant sometime next year . My doctor said I am good to go.

I take CVS prenatal vitamin. 1 a day. And I take a Redoxon vitamin c 1 a day ( with my water in the the morning).

He also said that when we are ready to try again. It would be prudent to stop the pill for 1 month or 2. And use condoms as a means of protection and then…..procede this helps avoid ectopic pregnancies.
Also if you work out and have a good diet it will be great.

@BoxerLady:  did you go to the doctor after? For my I had a positive pregnancy test but I had an empty egg. This is the result of being on the pill. It was less traumatizing when the doctor told me. My doctor was very human and explained to me that it is very recommended to wait for a month or two after the pill you ll see you will have a gorgeous baby and we will soon be posting about baby names and baby silly stuff. Eat right and excercise a healthy abdomen is great for carrying a baby to term!

@BoxerLady:  Dont be. If it is not an indiscretion how old are you? be exited. I am super catholic and people tell me I sound like a nun. But I have so much faith that I know all you have to is decrete you will have a healthy baby and it WILL happen. I am sorry to hear about the hospital and good idea for the 6 months. Also dont stress so much let it happen it will happen when it will happen.

I had a teacher in College she was this high powered lawyer she and her husband tried soooo hard to have children and just never could. 8 Years later and after accepting it would not happen. They went on vacation and surprise……

keep healthy and happy thats the key.

@BoxerLady:  I worry about the pill being connected to MC…I have been on the pill for probably close to 11 years :-/

I wish the best for you! Hopefully your next pregnancy will be everything you dreamed 🙂 Good luck to you!

It is never too early to start a prenatal.  My GP had recommended at least 6months prior.  I really recommend the New Chapter perfect prenatal and maybe some fish oil as well.  I am sure it will only help your hair.  And a healthy diet of tons of protein and fresh!
