(Closed) Two photographers … etiquette?

Definitely let her know!  Also, check your contract to make sure that’s even allowed, ours states that the photog we hired is the only paid professional we can have on site for our wedding.

That wouldn’t fly with our photogs but if it’s not in your contract then go for it. But yeah, I would definitely tell the person you hired and make sure she’s ok with it.  Especially in the same town and profession people tend to know each other and talk, so better she hears it from you.

be careful, in my photog’s contract, it stated that she would be the only professional photog unless otherwise discussed.. you could loose your photog completely so yes! tell them right away!

Yeah, I don’t think it’s a great idea even if it’s not in your contract that you can’t have two photogs. If your mother insists on having this other photographer for portraits, perhaps you could just schedule a day after sort of “rock the dress” shoot with the new photographer?
