I have two registries. On both of the registries I have a couple of the same gifts. I thought that this would give my guest an option on where to by some of the most expensive gifts. Was that wrong? Now that I have looked at the registries, those gifts are gone. What if I get the same gift at my bridal shower, what do I do? It will be so awkward 🙁

I think that is kind of wierd. I would choose the place that carries the item at the best price, or is at the store closest to your guests.

My FI’s sister did that but only for china, and she registered for 6 at each store instead of the full 12. This was in case guests only had access to one or the other.

Welcome mscely1! I have three registries and although I don’t have identical things on each registry, I definately have a few repeats in smaller items. Duplicates happen, don’t worry. Just smile and say thank you and move on. Sometimes you’ll see duplicates just because a cashier forgot to scan the registry. And, most stores have a fairly good return policy if you have a registry.

@mscely1 I did the same thing. I figured we can always return them and each store has different prices and benefits to them. For example, Macy’s will give us 5% of what our guests spend on a gift card, and Bed Bath and Beyond has coupons the guests can use. The other thing was that some people prefer one store over the other. We tried to do it only on a few items though, like the pots and pan set, china, and blender.
