My boyfriend and i went ring shopping today for the first time (together) and we pretty well narrowed it down! I have my great-great grandmothers .6 round cut diamond (how cool is that?) which we will be setting into a cushion cut halo. Ive always wanted yellow gold. The jeweler suggested that the prongs/metal on the halo part remain white gold while the shank is yellow gold. She said this is a more common choice to ensure the diamond does not reflect the yellow as much. I have not seen many like this and they did not have one in stock for us to view. Does anyone have any pictures of their rings like this? If not, please show me pics of your all yellow gold halos instead. Keep in mind the cut of the diamond we have is “good”, which is to be expected since its over 100 years old. I want to make sure the sparkle remains so i am worried about straying from what the jewler has suggested. The colour is a G. Any thoughts appreciated- thanks!
