the past week or so I’ve convinced myself not to test. It’s so early, what’s the point, right?
I am on my 17th day of my first cycle. I may have ovulated early (right after my period ended on the 4th day) because of temps, cramps and more CM than was usual for me. This is my first cycle TTC so it’s hard to tell. :/
Over the past week and a half or so I’ve experienced more and more pregnancy symptoms. Cramping, then bloating, enlarged breasts, lower back pain, a general feeling of being warmer than usual and discomfort. The past three days however, I’ve experienced what I think may be morning sickness. Every night, for about an hour from 7-9 or so like clockwork. I started feeling dizzy and fatigued, just a little sick to my stomach all day off and on- but the past three days there has been a clear pattern.
I haven’t changed anything, still eating, drinking doing everything super healthy like I normally do. No schedule changes. No spot bleeding but still cramps and more CM than I’ve ever experienced after ovulating.
The TWW is killing me! I honestly don’t know how you long term TTC’ers are doing it. I have a newfound admiration for you ladies.
I thought maybe I was just getting my hopes up, that maybe I was imagining symptoms – and then the sickness started. It’s like nothing I’ve ever experienced. My stomach feels completely fine after and there’s nothing to suggest I have a flu or anything.
Should I still hold off and test in a few days (one week before I am supposed to get AF)? I know chances are it’ll turn out negative this week. But I’m dying to know! Is it even possible to be pregnant, experience the start of morning sickness and still test negatively? Thoughts? I think it’s possible I got pregnant early on in the process since we BD-d like normal in the week I was getting off the pill. If I’m pregnant I must have a crazy early ovulation period!

@SimplyChic11: Is this your first cycle off BC as well? How long was your last cycle? If you are on the 17th day of your cycle, you would have had to ovulate VERY early to explain all your symptoms…. I don’t wanna get your hopes down, but morning sickness often doesn’t start until around the sixth week of gestation (of course it CAN be earlier!), and compounded with things like dizziness, I’d GUESS that your symptoms are psychological at this point.
Of course, you could be totally KU!!! You are taking your temperature, right? What has it been doing? Is it continuously rising?

Yup temps are rising π not trying not to get my hopes up but I’ve never felt this way before. I’ll keep recording temps
Edit: my cycles are usually 27-28 days, this is my first cycle as well

Ditto to what ChuckNorris said. Are you recently off of BCP? I had the exact symptoms you’re describing last month when it was my first cycle off BCP. I literally had every symptom in the book π I just would hate for you to get your hopes up like I did. But I hope you get your BFP! It is very possible to get pregnant on your first cycle, as proved on these boards.

@SimplyChic11: It’s very possible, but you would have needed to O on cycle day like 7-10 to have that many symptoms, and with a 27 day cycle, that’s very rare. Your LP would be 17-20 days! I reeeeeally hope this is it for you, we have had a lot of first-timers get BFPs lately, and you very well could be one of them!!!!!!!! =) Fingers crossed!!!!

Aw thanks for the advice π I really do appreciate it. I did feel ovulation symptoms just after my period ended and haven’t felt any since. I’ll be keeping tabs on anything new. I’m really hoping I’m KU, but I’m trying hard to keep my hopes down

@Blondee: That really stinks I’m sorry π I really hope we both get BFPs soon, is this cycle any better? Did the symptoms stop after AF? Even if I’m not pregnant I hope the nausea goes away. It’s pretty horrid π

@SimplyChic11: Trust me, I can totally relate!! Try “reverse symptom spotting.” The lovely Hamikay made this up, I dunno, three POAS clubs ago I think? It’s where you think up logical reasons for all your symptoms – magically, they all go away! For me, breast tenderness was from fist pumping (yes, fist pumping) at the Giant’s game. Nausea was something I ate. Repeated nausea was something ELSE I ate… Hunger? I clearly didn’t eat enough yesterday! Bloating? Definitely didn’t drink enough water today. Just think of any reason that could explain it, and chalk it up to that! =)

@SimplyChic11: yes they stopped, thank god! I thought I was going crazy. I even passed out one day from the dizziness, and I had crazy cramping with sharp pains one day, which I thought was implantation cramping lol. Ive been off BCP for a month and a half now, and feel much better. I hope your symptoms mean you’re pregnant though – you never know! π

these sound like a lot of the symptoms that i’ve had while TTC… but i’ve never been pregnant π a lot of it was/is psychological for me. I did realise that my prenatals were making me nauseas, and this took me a few months to work out – are you taking something new? i switched to another brand, which made a big difference. or it could be just your body recalibrating after BCP. or, you could in fact be pregnant, but it does seem very early to be experiencing morning sickness, and it would mean a VERY early O day (which are uncommon if you search FF for them). Are you basing your 27/28 day cycle on what used to happen pre-BCP, or during BCP? because quite a few people find that their cycles vary post BCP from what it used to be. Can you show us your chart??
Chuck has already explained my ‘reverse symptom spotting’ (gosh, if i’d known it was going to catch on, i’d have patented it!! haha), and it works for me!
Good luck!!
EDIT: the other thing that makes me think this may be psychological/reaction to coming off BCP is that you say you’ve been experiencing symptoms for the past week and a half, and it’s on CD17 now – so since around CD7. even if you DID ovulate early, and get pregnant, it wouldn’t have implanted until at least 5 days after that, and you probably wouldn’t be producing the hormones to create symptoms until after that again… I think it’s still too early to be symptom spotting.
ohhhh, welcome to our special place in TTC hell π

@hamikay: I was going to say the same thing about prenatals. My one ever pregnancy scare was about 5 years ago when I started taking a vitamin with iron with my breakfast and shortly after would be extremely nauseous.
Op – have you by any chance just started a new prenatal??

That’s the weird thing. I haven’t really charted because our initial thought was to NTNP anything, but simply BD as often as we can and when I may have been ovulating.
My symptoms are getting stronger by the day and I’ve tried to convince myself of any possible options, like
@ChuckNorris: suggested. Stomach flu? Lifting heavy items? Something I ate? it’s all coming up negative right now in my head. I’ve really never felt anything like this in my life.
I am not on a new prenatal, either but I will take a new one tonight to see if it makes a difference.
I guess the proof is in the pregnancy test. :/ *sigh* I have heard of women having morning sickness really early on and their symptoms letting up in very early pregnancy instead of starting MS around week eight. Also, carrying multiples may lead to earlier signs of pregnancy like early MS. Twins? Unlikely but wouldn’t that be cool?
I guess the good thing is, DH and I are moving into our new home this week (yay!) so I have plenty to keep me busy and keep my mind off testing as much as possible. I’m trying to hold off until the weekend to test so it’ll be as accurate as possible.
Still going to try to convince myself I’m not PG and plan plenty of projects and packing to keep me busy π I’ll def. post an update when I test though.
