As I start another TWW I’m wondering if there are things you ladies avoid during this time as you might be pregnant. I’m torn as i hate doing something ‘just in case’ to just find out again that I’m not KU two weeks later. I don’t generally drink a lot anyway so I’m ok continuing to have a beer here and there but Darling Husband and I both enjoying dirt biking and since we live on an acreage we regularly go at least twice a week. I’m thinking since it would still be so earlier that continuing to live just as we have been is fine until we find out, but since we do ride relatively aggressive with lots of bumps I can’t help worry a little bit I’m hurting our chances of conceiving?

I go running and at first I thought the same thing. But the truth is, women get pregnant everywhere in the world and do crazier things than running and dirt biking. Women used to hunt and gather or do hard physical labour and still somehow humans have kept on reproducing. I don’t think it will hurt your chances. Your chances are still 20% if you have regular sex, and around 30-40% if you are using OPKs, temp charting, and/or SMEP!

I’m in my third TWW and the only thing I have done differently is not have more than 3 drinks towards the very end of the wait. I exercise a lot and am very active and plan on pretty much keeping things the same when I find out I’m pregnant, I’ll just listen to my body and see how I feel and go from there!

The only thing I do differently is when I go to the spa in the tww (I go fortnightly with my mum as a “mum-date”) I will jump out every time I feel warm so I don’t over heat too much – our local spa isn’t usually too warm anyway but I do find that the 2nd half the month i heat up quicker possibly due to my temp being elevated just that degree or so more.
At the beginning i was so cautious but seriously if I stopped everything 50% of my life I’d have to take it easy on and as we have been trying for 8 months that WOULD suck. That said I am not a big drinker (1-2 max in a week) so that doesn’t change much and I haven’t changed my exercise regime except during AF if I feel shitty because I allow myself to sulk for a day then start again 🙂
As PP people get pregnant (& are pregnant without knowing yet) all the time doing rougher things I think you should be ok 🙂

I didn’t do anything differently– I actually traveled cross-country for work and had some very long days and consumed a LOT of caffeine. I was convinced we missed FW, so I didn’t worry about it.
2 days after we got home, we got our BFP. My advice– don’t worry about it. Do whatever you would normally do, life goes on. Good luck!
