Since you are at Michael’s go to the art paper section. Watercolor paper and mixed medium paper is heavier and more cost effective

There are black out there but you may have to try a bigger store like pearl or dick blick

I’ve used the thunderbolt linen paper in white. It is quite stiff of a cardstock and the texture is pronounced like real linen texture with weave lines going up and down the page. With that being said I’ve never heard of an explosive invitation so I can’t say for sure if it would work for your purposes.

That’s pretty neat! Yeah if you don’t mind the texture, the thunderbolt paper should be strong enough for that.
