I would definitely have it fixed. I wouldn’t risk any mistakes on a marriage license.

Sorry this happened! I’m not sure if it matters or not. They almost messed up the spelling of my first name. Good thing that I read the thing over a million times when we submitted it and after when we got the actual license. I had a bit of a panic attack after we submitted it because I wasn’t sure if I spelled my mother’s maiden name correctly because I was all excited, but I did. 🙂 I would call and see if they can fix it. That stuff would totally bug me forever, but I’m a little OCD about it!

They put the wrong info down for my parents (no clue why that’s needed but whatever) and we had them change it when we picked up the license. No extra fee and it was worth it so everything was Correct.

agirlnamedlucky:  I’d go in and have it fixed. My birthdate was wrong on mine and they had no problem re-printing a new one.

They had a couple typos in my parents’.  It hasn’t been a big deal (married 28 years this December…) but if you can get it changed.. why not?

That happened to us too in MA. We live out of state so my mom picked it up, didn’t notice, and so next time I was home I saw it. Then she had to go back and have them fix it. You should correct it, it’s a legal document.

I would definitely fix it before the wedding. I don’t know what things are like where you guys live but where I’m from you can fix things for free on the license but if it gets submitted that way and ends up on the certificate there’s a big fee per letter to fix it!

One of our witnesses names is spelled wrong on ours. I didn’t bother to fix it.

If it make u all feel better the courts screwed up my husbands last name and wrote Mitchelle instead of Mitchell. Only realized the mistake after i was talking to the clerk at the dmv yesterday and she asked to verify the name. I verified at the courts my big dummy did not see it. Now i have to wait until my marriage is filed with the court before i can correct it. Court is 1.5 hrs away. Bummer. I did great. At least im married right??? Lol. But see social Security Administration typed it correctly i don’t understand y dmv couldn’t. Got married last Saturday the 30th
