I’d scrap the mozzarella sticks. They’re not as fancy as shrimp cocktail or quiche and honestly are only tasty about two seconds out of the deep fryer.  They get cold and rubbery fast which is t good for a passed appie or sitting out.

If you want a third appie do something veggie based as they’re often cheaper. I love the look of a caprese or Greek salad on a skewer.

@Mrsgurzakovic:  If you can’t afford it, you can’t afford it!  Question though – you’re only doing 100 of each appetizer and you have 100 people?  That means people will only get one?

@Mrsgurzakovic:  Or a straight up veggie and dip tray. Does your venue require professional catering?  If not I’d probably self cater he shrimp cocktail and a veggie tray. Although if you want higher level presentation than just a ring with shrimp sauce I guess the caTerer is required.

@Mrsgurzakovic:  I’m sorry sweetie, I think that’s a terrible idea.  Is there any way you can swing more than that???

@SapphireSun:  Totally agree.

@AshleyR83:  I was just going to ask this.

OP, I think you will need to plan for something like 5-7 pieces of apps per person. I’m sure there are bees who know this ratio better than I, but what you’re planning would never work, as the people who get to the table (or have the apps passed to them) first definitely would take a number of pieces, and there would be nothing left for many of your guests.

@Brielle:  I agree….I have never been to a reception where there was a limited amount of passed apps, so people are definitely going to take more than just a few, especially if you are only serving cake and punch.  If I was a guest, I would stock up on the passed apps since there won’t be dinner!

@Mrsgurzakovic:  Please see my post above. You’re going to need to way more than double the quiche.

Do you have the option of having some people help with doing it themselves? Quiche and shrimp are available at Sams Club for great prices. You just gotta heat them up and place them on platters

I would eat all of that without complaint. Personal preference, the sticks.
