Ok, So I did extensive research online looking for what I wanted in a dress or what I thought I wanted.
I was planning on doing the running of the brides in Boston this week, but decided I better make an appointment somewhere first to get the feel for the different fabrics and how things will fit.
So I went to David’s Bridal this past weekend with my mother…and I was such a nervous wreck that I forgot everything and anything about what I liked/didn’t like based on what I researched online for styles.
My mother has no sense of fashion and thinks everything looks great on me, so she wasn’t of much help. Needless to say, I became my usual very indecisive self, and found myself realizing that nothing felt like “the one”…I am not easily moved or overly emotional, but I was expecting myself to just “know” when I found the right dress.
Based on sales pressure, and a price tag I could not refuse, I wound up purchasing this:
Out of the 7 gowns I tried on, this one looked the best (I am very petite, 5’1″ 110lbs)
Now that I’m home though..and scouring the ‘net yet again for dresses, I’m remembering that what I wanted was something softer looking and more wedding-dress like if that makes sense. I want organze or chiffon..something lightweight/flowy.
I LOVE the following dress:
But it is quite a bit more than the one I bought, I already BOUGHT the other dress, and I don’t even know how it would look on me. The couple of big A-line gowns I tried on looked like upturned sundaes on me around my short legs 🙁
What should I do!?!!? I’m thinking of still going to the running of the brides this Friday in Boston since I’m not happy now…the bridal consultant kept asking me “Well what would make it feel more like a wedding dress to you?” and I didn’t know the answer at the time since I was so nervous!
UGH! Sorry for the novel..any input appreciated from multiple dress brides or anyone!
