Okay, I hate pants. It doesn’t matter the type-denim, slacks, corduroy, spandex, khaki….I hate them all. If they’re not 3x oversized baggy pajama bottoms, I don’t want to be in them. I find them not only uncomfortable but horribly unflattering, no matter what the cut. Fortunately for me, I’ve been able to get away wearing almost exclusively dresses the past five years and tights have always been sufficiently warm for me in the colder months.
However, I am now switching job positions and bare legs are a no-no. I am thankful that leggings ARE allowed however, which also helps that I can wear them with a majority of my wardrobe instead of having to go out and start over from scratch. But honestly, despite what everyone seems to claim, I don’t think they’re comfortable either! Granted, I haven’t tried on that many pairs, but the few I have are all the same-super icky pinchy around the middle! I’ve worn up to a size XL and the problem persists-why does my waist have to feel like it’s been swathed in elastic all day?? I have a 28 inch waist and wear a size 6-8, I didn’t think I was SO large that this was going to be a consistent problem, especially as I’ve seen women of all shapes and sizes sing the comfortable praises of leggings, so what’s the deal? Am I just horribly unlucky that I just happen to find all the super tight pinchy waisted leggings out there? Do I just have a super sensitive waist?
I’ll be starting my new position in 1-2 weeks and I have exactly 1 pair of leggings and 1 pair of sweatpants to my name. I need to go shopping but I fear I’ll forever feel constricted and gross every time I get dressed for work. So tell me, where do you find your magical comfortable leggings?

I like the HUE brand, especially their ponte pants, they have back pockets and look more like real pants. I practically live in them. I wear small or medium (like a 4 or 6 in US size). I even like their denim leggings, they’re soft and comfortable, not too constricting.

Tall stay-up stockings! I hate tights/leggings because of how they fit around the middle and the groin, and stockings are so much better to me. I feel kind of hot in them, personally, and I don’t have to take them partially off to use the restroom. Win/win in my opinion.

Ok I would have never thought of this before but I bought them on a whim one day and they are the most comfortable leggings ever! …Uniqlo! I now own them in every color lol. They do run small so get a size up. I normally wear a US size 2-4 and usually get a size small in leggings but at Uniqlo I get mediums.

Victorias Secret leggings are really nice and last a long time. I like their yoga leggings and their everywhere leggings.
Not sure where you are but LuLaRoe is a company that sells really soft leggings and I love my plain colored ones. They make crazy prints but they do have basics like black, dark blues, brown. I’m in CA and have friends on Facebook who sell them (have parties, which I don’t go to in person, but I do buy from online parties occasionally). They’re super soft and fit perfect everywhere even after multiple washes. They are thinner (not see through) so if you’re wanting thicker leggings, the VS ones would be better.

I buy Old Navy legging one size up from my dress size. I only wear dresses with leggings and boots.

cbgg: I’ve tried leggings from Forever 21, Wal-Mart, Sears and either Macy’s or Target, I can’t remember at the moment. The 1 pair I have at home was from a boutique we stopped by during our honeymoon and while they’re okay, they still start to make me feel like a stuffed suasage after a few hours.
Thanks for the suggestions so far everyone! Also forgot to mention, I’m in the US/CA.

I live and breathe for Target leggings. I own Old Navy ones but I like the thicker waist band on the Target ones. I’m not fat but I hold all my weight around my middle so jeans will just never work for me. I wear Capri leggings with dresses and tunics every last day!
I personally am not a fan of lularoe but I know people swear by them and how comfy they are.
Me and my girls, all wearing our leggings, on Mother’s Day. Lol
