somedaymrsj :

I was an older bride (girl I am 46 and it was my first wedding! Talk about feeling your age!) so I totally get you.

And sure folks can say: wear whatever you want. And it’s true but if you aren’t feeling it, yeah, it’s a horrible feeling.

So here is a bit of real, honest to goodness feedback, one older bride to another: the dress is stunning. It absolutely 100% does not look too young for you. It is a wonderful and lovely choice.

I love it I love it I love it! Please wear this dress. (And wear it with confidence!)

That is all.

(p.s: I also wore a veil and I have no regrets. Yours is lovely and really makes the look complete if you ask me)

Oh come on. I am 42 and wearing a proper bridal dress. We don’t have one foot in the grave yet! I am slightly the same as you in that this is not my first wedding but it is my first proper excitement and planning wedding and I am bloody well doing it. You look amazing, the dress is beautiful and no-one will think anything like ‘why is she wearing that’, that is all in your head. It’s a wedding, anyone who is surprised you are in a wedding dress is an oddball.

It is truly beautiful and suits you – it’s going to be amazing. 44! Life is just beginning πŸ™‚

I’m about your age, first of all.  The dress is beautiful and looks amazing on you.  I don’t think it looks too young for you.

Anither bee suggested a different veil.  I have to agree, I think a birdcage or  fascinatior or a veil that doesn’t cover the face would be better.

I’m approaching 50 and I think that dress looks great on you. The back is stunning. I would not hesitate for a moment to wear that dress at your age.

First of all, dear Bee, there is no such critter as too old for a dress.

Second, your dress is amazing on you.  Wearing the dress you love and that makes you feel beautiful is what matters.

I was older than you are now when I went wedding dress shopping and I tried on whateverthehell looked good to me. No one batted an eye. Ok, they may have been a bit dazzled by my youthful appearance; that happens.

Nevertheless, I approached my entire wedding planning experience with the attitude that age was not going to be factored into the equation. We were going to have what we liked and do things our own way.

I mean, seriously. Are there really people on the planet with nothing better to do than ruminate about other people’s wardrobe choices?  How terribly sad for them.

somedaymrsj :  To quote Sassy411, I am dazzled by your youthful appearance! And I think your dress is perfect. Love the lace and tulle and the bow and the romantic feel. I’m 50/50 on the veil. But the dress is 100% fabulous. In case it matters, my best friend got married at 46 and wore a huge sparkly ballgown; she looked AMAZING! Wear what makes you happy!

Hello fellow Tacoma bee! Was this from Brides for a Cause? That’s where I got my wedding dress. I think your dress looks stunning on you and totally age-appropriate. I was expecting a massive ballgown with a tiara or something, but this is so tasteful and timeless.
