@shunduh:  I love the look too, but I can’t picture it without the cute shoes….

(Don’t worry!!  You’ll figure it all out.  You’ve got beautiful ideas!)

i don’t know if they make regular tights like these, but dance tights often have an opening right on the bottom so you can hook them over your feet if you want and they look like normal tights OR you can roll them up and make them footless tights. that way they could wear them with shoes or without

@shunduh: Yeah I don’t know how any of this barefoot thing will work in the weather.  I would not be thrilled if someone invited me to a wedding in possibly 40 degree weather and I couldn’t wear shoes.  Just a thought.

ETA: I was just thinking about this more, and I just don’t understand the no shoe thing at all.  Are people going to go into the bathroom with no shoes on?  Yuck.

I think they’re adorable. After considering thier comfort due to the weather, I don’t think you should worry too much about how ‘appropriate’ they are (especially if we’re talking about length/formality). YOU determine that, not your mother or the bees here.

@totheislnds:  I love the red look you posted.

@shunduh:  I’d be grossed out to be walking around barefoot when dog owners are picking up after their pets. Why have you decided on no shoes?

Must admit I agree with your Mum, I would put them all in the first dress and give the Maid/Matron of Honor a larger bouquet to single her out. Sorry 🙂

It’s not just that the dresses are a bit short, but you mentioned that the front few rows of guests will be sitting on the ground — perfect for viewing right up those dresses 😉  Tights and shawls sound like a good idea for security and comfort.

Also, I know you didn’t ask for feedback on this, but please, please allow your guests to wear shoes.  In the winter at 1am anywhere in the country, the ground will be uncomfortably cold.  Possibly frostbite cold.  And if there are dogs around, even if the owners are good at picking up after them and there are no poopy puddle dogs, I would feel very uncomfortable walking around barefoot when there might even be fresh residue, if you know what I mean — especially if people are all dressed up in wedding clothes (somehow it doesn’t seem to matter as much if you’re in shorts and a t-shirt at the beach and know you’re going to get dirty anyway 🙂 ).

I LOVE THEM! If your ladies can rock a short dress then let them do it! My BM’s all wore different red dresses from BCBG ( and one was from Nordstroms) and they were the talk of my wedding! everyone said it was so fun seeing one glam girl after another in their own style and dress. And obviously you are aware of the weather issues and the other ladies have given good suggestions regarding tights and yes, i think they should wear shoes since it is january.

I think they’re cute, but the second dress looks very short. O.O
