I dragged my butt on it and booked someone about 5 months away. I would see if you know anyone with makeup skills who could do your makeup. See if you can find someone at a makeup counter Sephora Ulta that you could hire. If anything See if you can find a makeup artist to teach you how to do your own makeup for the day of.

i had a 7 month engagement and only booked makeup a few months out.  a friend of mine recommended someone who does makeup out of herhome.  she’s used her before for other special occassions and also gets waxed there.  i would have never found her by googling.

do you have a local business fb group you can post asking for makeup artists? or can you ask friends if anyone has used somone who has their own business rather than a big company?

If you don’t find anyone, you have plenty of time to look up and practice bridal make up tutorials on youtube – so many gorgeous options really! Also can you maybe add yourself to a waiting list in the salons? As in, someone might drop their appointment.

And don’t be so hard on yourself! ๐Ÿ™‚ Me and a friend I showed this are both very shocked that 6 months is not enought.

megm1099 :  You have a whole 6 months to learn! If you start practicing now you’ll be a master by then. By all means keep looking for a MUA, but start practicing in case of the worst.

It will work out, bee. Deep breaths. My makeup artist canceled on me one week before the wedding and, with the help of one of my husband’s coworkers, I found another one, who did an amazing job. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m rooting for you! You will find a wonderful makeup artist!

megm1099 :  Hi there, I noticed that you said your #1 artist was someone who traveled throughout central NYS. I’m also from Upstate NY, so if you want to message me where you are located I could see if any potential artists I researched for my wedding are people you may be interested in.
