We’re always hardest on ourselves. Do you think it was what you were wearing? Make sure to pick out something that’s super comfortable and flattering for your pictures and I’m sure you’ll be fine.

I know the feeling – my FI-to-be and I have bought my diamond and are choosing a setting and I have told him “I want to lose x amount of weight before you propose, because then there will be the engagement photos and the engagement party and I want to feel pretty.” That said, I want to be engaged NOW, so I have to get my butt moving…literally!

I’d happily be a motavation buddy 🙂

@feistybride:  You could easily lose 5+ pounds in that amount of time. I’ve been taking metamucil pills and drinking a TON of water. They fill you up and take away hunger pains. You’ll be in the bathroom more than you’d like but you’ll literally be flushing your weight away!

I did the atkins diet a few years ago – in 2 months (8 weeks) I lost like 20 pounds.  No joke.

I lost 60 total and have lost another 20 since Atkins (now I just calorie count like all other dieters, and it sucks lol).

You just have to commit! PM me and I can give tips.

you cant lose a ton of weight in 8 weeks safely but you CAN Lose about a pound per week safely, and you can make sure you are totally free of bloat and excess water weight! between those two things you can achieve a noticeable difference!

for the next two months, make sure you dont eat more calories  than you burn and avoid “empty” calorirs such as sugar and simple carbs that your body will either burn right up (as opposed to burning excess fat) or store as fat (what happens if you eat more calories from these foods than you burn).

then, during the two or so weeks leading up to the pictures, work on preventing water retention – our bodies can hold on to literally pounds of extra water and it makes a visible difference! to do this, avoid simple simple carbs, sugar, and sodium and things that controbute to dehydration, such as soda, alcohol, etc. drink TONS of water to dilute the above things and to combat dehydration. coconut water is good for this too.

last line of defense, and check with doctor first, plrase, are water pills. i would never use them regularly regardless but my doctor cleared me for diurex brand water pills…i use them for two days before i want to look my best. they prevent bloat and water retention.

no matter what your groom will think youte the hottest woman on the planet and your joy will be beatiful to all. congrats and have fun!

@feistybride:  I don’t have a condition but I too have had to cut out sugars and carbs. I’m not huge into working out lately and just the fiber supplements alone are working for me.

Good luck!

I have always struggled with my weight as well, and I agree with prior posters who said that you could safely lose about a pound per week prior to your e-shoot.  However, along with that, the clothing you select will make a huge difference, as well as will the angles at which your photos are taken.

I would experiment with having someone shoot even simple cell phone pics of you in clothing of different colors, syles and silhouettes to determine what will look best on you. I know that I personally look much better in certain colors (dark vs. light) and styles (form-fitting vs. baggy) of clothing. I also do not like to be photographed from certain angles.

@feistybride:

Yes. Some of the stores where I’ve been most successful in finding attractive, fashionable, plus-sized clothing over the years include Coldwater Creek, Talbot’s Women’s, Chico’s (they don’t have plus, but they do have some great jackets, sweaters and tops that I can wear), Macy’s “Inc.” and “American Rag” plus lines; Nordstrom’s Encore dept., TJMaxx, Marshall’s, and a store called Ashley Stewart.

ETA: Chico’s does now have “extended” sizes in some items.
