@feistybride: Okay so Im going against the grain….you have enough motivation buddies above if needed.
I have always been bigger than I thought. I dislike photos as I just dont see ‘me’ in them and when my Husband told me to start losing coz he was going to propose in the next few years ( I had warned him I wasnt happywit the way I looked) I did not believe him.
He propsed. We got married. I did not diet and I did not care.
I have not seen one single picture that I am not smiling in, and I know he loves me for who I am. If I get bigger he’ll still love me, I f I get smaller I figure his wife gets better with age.
Stay true to yourself and for goodness sake if you do diet dont take moodswings out on your OH which is what I do ! x

feistybride: I had the same realization like, “how did this happen!” You have plenty of time to lose weight, or not lose weight, whatever you decide to do. I’ve spent the past year feeling like crap about myself trying to fit everyone else’s image of what I should look like on my big day…and it’s not worth it. I decided I’m going to be happy, and though I am still trying to lose weight, I’m not trying to lose for the wedding, but for my life ahead with my Fiance. Focus on being happy and healthy, your Fiance loves you the way you are.

You have plenty of time to lose some weight! I’ve lost 14lbs in 5-6 weeks, 2 inches off my waist and 3 inches off my hips! And an inch off my thighs (though that’s always a difficult place to lose weight from lol). Half an hour to an hour of high-impact cardio each day, plus watch your calories and you’re good to go!

If you can’t lose the weight, wear a shaper underneath your clothing. A good shaper always does the trick!!

You’d be surprised how much weight you can lose in 8 weeks and how little it takes to feel a bit better. I’ve been counting calories and working out consistently for 8 weeks and I’m down 32 pounds and two dress sizes. However, losing weight won’t necessarily make you comfortable with how you look. Don’t make it all about the scale….it’s amazing what the right hair, makeup and clothing can do!

Using a laxative like Metamucil on a regular basis cannot be good for you. Once you’ve actually evacuated your system, you’ll simply put the weight back on, plus your digestive system will be sluggish without the extra insoluble fibre to depend on.
30 minutes of exercise 4 times a week and cut out extra fats and refined sugars, plus make sure you’re drinking at least 2L of water every day and you’ll lose that weight in no time.

Thanks for all the kind words. I am working with my doctor and am excercising more regularly – even though I am pretty active. I use SparkPeople’s food tracker religiously, so that is a big help. I got rid of my gym membership to save money, but we are scoping Craigslist to get a treadmill.
I’ve lost about 10 of the pounds since I wrote this post and hoping to lose another 30 by the wedding. My motivation no longer is the wedding but getting prepared for baby. We’ve been together for over 10 years and lived together for going on 5 years, so we’ve got baby fever!!!

I am sure you are beautiful.But you need to be happy with yourself. When I need to lose weight I follow a simple plan. Eat less,move more.LOL..Works every time. You need to be happy with yourself whatever you weigh. xox
