Do any of you have ‘that friend’ on Facebook? The one that’s always talking about how horrible their life is? Mine is being especially whiney lately, plus the things she whines about!! I mean Thanksgiving is right around the corner and she has a roof over her head, food, 2 healthy children, 1 healthy baby in her belly (despite the paternity test issues) a guy (or 2?) that love and care for her but what is she on Facebook with? ‘I can’t believe I can’t go to the Twilight premiere tonight at midnight!!! I’ve never missed one before FML’. I mean really. Sorry to rant, this is just the third one of these today, I keep saying I’m going to unfriend her or hide from my feed but I keep waiting to see her snap out of it and grow up. Anyone else have this friend?

@MangoLover4Life: That too! Maybe I’m weird but Facebook is not for airing your dirty laundry. A status here and there when you’re livid? Sure. Paragraphs at least 4x a week? No.

@ShutterbugCait: Two things–one, that would be really annoying. I would hide the updates–I have one who is anti-abortion and anti-gay marriage, and I hide a lot of her statuses.
Two, I have a baby, and I’m pregnant with one, and I can’t imagine wanting to go to a midnight premiere! DH and I are going Sunday afternoon, in the daylight. We’re just not really midnight premiere people anymore. Wouldn’t she rather sleep??

..or the one friend that complains ALL the time and then writes “I hate people that complain on facebook. Grow up!”.
Or “I hate people that go on my facebook page to spy on me.. mind your own business”…. uhm hello? People only see what you want them to see!!!
Ahahahah I would like to un-friend these people but then I couldn’t have fun at their expense anymore.

But on the flip side, excessive Facebook braggers are just as bad. Yes, your gorgeous husband surprises you with flowers, you have a beautiful home, healthy children….Please, be grateful and even gush a little! But I have one on my list that carries on and on about how awesome her life is (complete with daily photos) that I find it a bit much.

Yep. I have a Facebook friend that even if you gave her a million dollars she would complain about it. I see multiple posts about her complaining about where she lives, how she hates her parents and brother, her job, how she doesn’t have any free time, how she hasn’t talked to her boyfriend in months (that’s a whole ‘nother story) and how people don’t appreciate her.
With the kind of person she is, all of it is blown out of proportion and I blocked her from my news feed because it does get old after a while.
ETA: I just saw another post by another friend that said she and her boyfriend had been together for a year (off and on) and since he hadn’t proposed to her yet she feels like she’ll never get married. She’s 21… Oh, social networking.
