do you have any other wedding details figured out? venue? your dress? overall theme/color scheme? that would affect my choice, but just based on the dress alone i like the VW in charcoal, or sterling (assuming i can accurately identify a color of a dress….i just don’t know these days……)

gijanedoe:  I voted for the short purple dress. I think purple will complement everything best, and the short dress seems like it will be the most re-wearable. I have to say, I love the Vera Wang dresses! I think those would be less practical use wise though. I also think that they probably won’t be as flattering on different shapes and sizes.

ETA: The sterling Vera looks like it would make a good wedding gown!

Are the guys wearing light gray? If so I think it would be really classy and cool to have the girls wear dark gray if you are wearing black so it’s all shades of gray and black! The other color I think that works is the sangria that would also be really pretty. But I don’t particularly care for the yellow it would remind me of a bumble bee with the black dress. Unless you’re into that sort of thing or are a steelers fan lol.

No yellow. Too bumblebee like. I love the long db in the purple! I also like the Vera but shy away from it for bridesmaids dresses… Might be more than they are comfortable spending??

Make sure the girls try on the Vera wang dresses. My best friend is a bridesmaid in a May wedding and the bride chose that dress in blush and it’s probably the most atrocious thing on I  have ever seen. It’s so I’ll fitting and the drop waist is so Bizzare. My best friend broke out in tears as she tried it on.

Based on everything you said, I think the dark purple would be stunning ๐Ÿ™‚

I’d go with purple dresses. If you want to add yellow, do it with flowers! I’d also stick to short, unless it’s going to be chilly.

A short dress would be more rewearable for your bridesmaids. I think the purple would be most flattering on all skintones. I’m really pale, and that yellow looks awful on me. If your bridesmaids are darker complected, than yellow could be a contender, but I agree with the bumblebee problem. Yellow flowers would be a nice touch, PPs. I think more shapes of women would be comfortable with the sleeves on the short dress than with strapless.

The more I think of it, though, maybe a grey (that coordinates with the tuxs of the groom and groomsmen) would be nice because then you would be the only one sticking out in pictures!

I’d love to see your black dress!

Yes please show us your black dress asap. I loved the one  you were considering in another thread .

I like the long DB dresses the best , long for drama which  I think will suit your theme, and the sangria for colour . As pps have said, yellow is a hard colour to wear. I think  the VW dresses look like they might not be flattering to all body types too, whereas the  DB ones  do.

Otherwise the DB  long in sterling or charcoal, depending which is best with the guys’ grey.
