Anyone have any recs for PS3 games? Preferably 2-player (main story–fuck you, Resistance 2). Fiance and I need some new games, but everything seems to be 1-player or 2-player only on some other stupid storyline.

@vorpalette:  The weekend after we got back from our honeymoon, my husband and I went out to get Borderlands 2. A couple of Christmases ago we accidentally both bought the first one for each other as a gift, and I would definitely recommend it if you’re a fan of FPS’s. We’re also getting back into Diablo III now that it’s not so laggy, though obviously that’s a PC game and not PS3.

OP: I would definitely recommend playing games together if you feel like your SO plays them too much!

I don’t mind video games, so long as they don’t cut into “hanging out with people face-to-face time.

I’m in the same boat in Chicago… The latest Mists of Pandaria expansion for WoW has consumed my Fiance. But I don’t mind too much because I know his playing goes in waves and when he levels up all of his characters he’ll stop again.  Plus, I know it’s a stress reliever for him and there are a ton of other things he COULD be doing for that outside of the house!

@Hippos:  Oooh!  A bunch of friends from our old WoW guild is playing GW2, how is it?  I heard it’s a bunch of pvp.

@vorpalette:  If you don’t mind scary stuff, Resident Evil 6 has an amazing co-op mode. My best friend and I took a week off of work to hang out and play it :).

And yeah, Borderlands 2 was totally annoying until I tried it! I now understand the appeal!

@Nico79:  I am the very definition of not a gamer. I get uptight, nervous and frequently get stuck with my gun in the air between a wall and a door frame. Little Big Planet, major fail. Couldn’t grasp the concept of jumping and grabbing at the same time.

Now Sonic the Hedgehog that is a game I can handle (especially the first level!). 😛

Lol it is always video game season in our house too.  I used to play WoW but it just takes up too much and time and I am too busy.  I do stil play SC2 because you can play one day and not play it again for weeks.  You also dont have to pay monthly

I’m as much of a gamer as my Fiance, so the only conflict with new games coming out is who gets to play first!

@housebee:  Tbh, I didn’t like it at first because it was so radically different than the original GW, but after playing it…it is growing on me and I can’t stop playing it! I’m in a guild that is mainly pve, so I haven’t gotten a chance to really experience the pvp. I’ve heard that its good though!

@kayrie95:  For us, too! Especially when it’s something like Fallout or Elder Scrolls. Fallout in particular is one of my favorites, so there’s no way I’m going out at midnight only to watch somebody else play it first.

I think this thread has slowly been jacked….The point is OP, try to find a game you guys can enjoy together.  With so many games, there’s bound to be one out there that you can both love.  Think of it like house hunting, or finding the perfect venue….but for gaming.

@Treejewel19:  Hmm is there something that you both enjoy outside of the house? Like joining a sports club? My FH and I joined a local team and go once a week.  We’re also considering joining a committee for the safety of local wildlife.  Honestly anything that you are both passionate about will force him to put down the game. 🙂
