So I know this is going to sound completely crazy, but all of the sudden the stress of wedding planning has hit me and I’m lying here at 1:00am wide awake and stressing so I decided to reach out to my wedding bee community for some reassurance. My wedding is still 17 months away so I its stupid to even stress bit I just looked at my checklist/to-do list and feel sooooo overwhelmed! Is this normal to feel this way at some point???? We’ve been engaged for 6 months and I have loved every moment of planning and can’t wait to be married to the love of my life!
Some of this stress is definitely PMS and seeing things add up even though I know it will be ok! Everyone’s families are graciously helping out and FH and I are saving, although currently looking for better jobs also.
So These are the things I’m stressing about:
-I’ve made centerpieces/bouquets/placecards/church decortext for many people’s weddings and I keep hearing we can’t wait to fine toy our wedding to see what creative thing you are doing for your own wedding!!! I’m DIYing the centerpieces, guest book, placecards, most decor but I’m also a traditional bride. I have a vision and feel like this pressure is on me to be more creative than ever…I just want a beautfiul wedding!
-like I mentioned costs are stressing me even though I know we’re fine. I have my little freak out moments every couple of months. We will be getting a new place as we are currently living with family so that is an added exspense
-i think it just seems like a loot to do all of a sudden and I just need to a calm down. Anxiety has always been an unwelcome part of my life and I manage it with counseling and drs help but that’s for another day.
Any advice or just sayings stop being stupid is welcome! Thanks bees 🙂

- Wedding: May 2014 - Smithfield Center
You’ve accomplished a lot for your wedding being so far away!
First thing is to just breathe. Relax. You’re already really ahead of the game and everything is going absolutely smoothly! You couldn’t ask for a better amount of time to be able to make everything as you want it without stressing so calm down hun!
Just relax. You’re feeling a lot of pressure to have this amazing wedding because of your talents and gifts when in reality it’s going to be amazing because you and your Fiance are going to be committing to each other for the rest of your lives. You have plenty of time to make your decorations just as you want them and there won’t be a single person who doesn’t think they’re great – especially if they already think that of your other work.
I think you need to drink a nice glass of water (or hot chocolate if you’re in the mood for that lol) and get some sleep. You’ll feel better after a good night’s sleep. 🙂

Relax! You have done heaps.
Not trying to invalidate your stress, but you know that in essence this is just a big party? 17 months to do the rest is HEAPS of time.
( I have a fake wedding date on here as I don’t want people I know IRL finding me, but I planned a kick ass awesome wedding in 12 mths, and I have anxiety issues too- just break it into bite sized chunks.)

@megs102: girl, you’re crazy! You have about a year longer than I did and I had plenty of DIY stuff. You can’t/shouldn’t sustain this level of anxiety for 17 months, especially when hou have so much done! Breathe!
